Don't do inbuilt suspension if you are building any kind of off-road car.
I either use my buggy suspension, it's versatile and easily modifiable, or one of the two following setups:
1: Spring and Wheel.
Connect a small piece of fuselage to a wheel, then a spring vertically.
Pros: Easy to make, versatile, easily hideable.
Cons: Sort of fragile and looks simple.
2: Bar axle and Two Springs
Make a long, thin rod out of fuselage and attach the wheels to either end. Attach springs to top of axle.
Pros: Strong and better looking,
Cons: Little flex and hard to hide.
Another setup is more difficult but more rewarding.
I got the idea from the back of my RC car
This is a setup that is great for offroading and looks great, but it's hard to build.
On the other hand, if you are building a road car:
Tournament racers for Track: (Gold Prix, etc)
No suspension.
Supercar and other road racers:
Suspension: 250
Damper: 250
Trucks and Civilian:
Suspension: Default
Damper: 70-100
Hope you like my (rather lengthy) post on suspension. Cheers :D
Hi! I'm Jetpackturtle, creator of land vehicles and propeller planes. Feel free to check them out and ask for tips on cars/suspension/XML modding.

You can tag me on any of your planes by putting my name: Jetpackturtle, and putting an @ sign in front of it. That looks like this: @Jetpackturtle. I'll be notified and check your planes out! But only ever tag people who ask. You can get a lot of bad vibes here if you tag a million people on your planes.
K, see ya around later, maybe in 1.8?
@XMarcoX Aw. Maybe next car class.
+1Make a car
Yay!
Copy.
@PuhBuhGuh I'm talking about tournament cars, like Gold Prix, etc. Those tracks are completely flat.
