  • Rotator Input Based on Altitude 4.1 years ago

Yea I’m a bit new to modding in general and only started once the overload modding system was added to SP mobile. Glad that you told me this early since I’m trying out more things. Also kinda weird we have the choice to switch to imperial, nautical, and metric units for flying but not modding functions like this... just an observation. @TrislandianAlliance

Didn’t even think about that haha. Definitely the reason behind it then. Thanks to both of you! @TrislandianAlliance

Just tried it out and it works perfectly. Any way you can tell me how you got the “6096” value in the function for an altitude of 20,000 feet? (Just asking so I can readjust this value in the future without asking you every time) @randomusername

I’ll try it out, thanks! @randomusername

@vcharng I just used all 3 of your demonstrator rotators and just adjusted the "0.25" in their input functions as you suggested before, and it all works like a gem! Thanks for all your help, much appreciated!

@vcharng Here's my desired time table:

T= 0: Landing Gear Up commanded
    T= 0 to 6: Landing gear retracts
T= 0 to 3: Front LG doors open up
T= 6 to 12: Back LG doors retract
T= 13 to 16: Front LG doors retract

Here's a video of what I'm looking for, more or less. If you can figure out something more accurate to the video, you can disregard my time table. Thanks again.

Hi again, sorry to be such a bother about landing gear. I've read the content below and totally understand that asking so many questions can be a nuisance. Regardless, I'll try to keep it as brief as possible. I haven't been able to solve my issue with the solution you provided to be before, where you suggested to just decrease the "0.25" within the smooth function.

I guess my goal is to increase the length of time that the doors stay open (from 2 to 6 seconds in total) before closing up again. I tried what you suggested and it didn't work properly, as the LG doors would either close too soon or open too late (running into the landing gear itself as a result).

Do you have any suggestions? And would it help if I just uploaded my model for you to test out and play around with? Thanks once again for everything.

  • How do we make input delays? 4.1 years ago

@TheKraken3 haha my bad man. Will do from now on...

  • How do we make input delays? 4.1 years ago

@vcharng I just downloaded it and it was what I was looking for so thanks for that. The issue is that they open for a too short amount of time (about 2 seconds) whereas I need them to open for 6 seconds before closing. How do I change the input function to do so? Thanks for the help and prompt replies as always!

  • How do we make input delays? 4.1 years ago

@vcharng hello again, recently I wanted to add another set of doors for my front landing gear. I’m not sure if you are familiar with most airliner landing gear doors, but the ones I am talking about usually behave like so:

They stay closed all of the time and only open up when the front landing gear is being retracted and then close up again (and vice versa). These doors make up 2 of the 4 doors that are used for the front landing gear of most aircraft.

Is there any possible way to add an input function that will make landing gear doors stay closed and only open up for 6 seconds and close back again?

Thanks for your help, time, and effort!!

@vcharng yea I noticed that my gear doors weren’t closing all the way haha...I’ll debug the rotators if anything comes up but I just wanted to thank you for your help once again. Cheers!

@vcharng it works well so I appreciate your help! However, I’d like the doors to take 3 seconds to close so how would my input change based on that? Also do the LG door rotators need to be set to 100% speed as well? Sorry for the hassle :)

  • How do we make input delays? 4.1 years ago

@vcharng thanks for the explanation. In my case, the landing gear takes about 8 seconds to retract fully, so I am looking to get my LG door rotators to start after the 8 seconds. How would I modify the input function for the rotators to do so? And do the landing gear rotator and LG door rotators have to be on the same speed setting for this to work?

    Haha, theoretically "dragless"! @Alienbeef0421

WOW! Amazing job! I have never seen such a realistic model of the 748i! Many people can never get the proportions right and especially the wing sweep angle. I'm an aviation enthusiast and I really appreciate the detail in the extremely realistic wing flex, slats, flaps, reverse thrust, and spoilers. You hit every detail of the Queen of the Skies- even the double rudder! Great job and keep up the awesome work!

@BoxGlow Thanks! Yeah, I tried to modify each version to have different features. I have an amazing new family coming out soon. Shhhhh!
PS, It's based on Boeing's SUGARVOLT.

@APEX2 Thanks! I wanted to use the same engines I've been using for my series as they're much more powerful than the ones provided in the game.
