Meee tooo. I was into the 3D single rotor thing a few years back (not that I was all that good at it haha) and also the little ones. I really liked the Blade series; the 400, the mcpx, msr, and nano cpx. Actually I used the msr the most haha. Anyway, I had this change happen in my life and got rid of all of them like a dummy. Now all I’ve got is a tiny little quad that I bought on sale at office max, I don’t even know the brand hahaha. Oh well it’s still fun! @LiamW
Yeah for sure. Different kind of flying. Forces you to pay much closer attention to your inputs. I rather like it. Except on rotorcraft. Only 4ch+ for me when it comes to helis haha. With helis it’s just limiting and takes away most of what sets helis apart from fixed wing. Man I miss r/c haha. @LiamW
Hahaha that wasn’t exactly what I had in mind but those reasons are much better and more hilarious than mine so have an upvote. And that’s a yes on the Blériot of course. @ACMECo1940
This thing is sweet! Seems like you’d have to be very precise in order to get a plane that flies this well/easy with just throttle and rudder. But hey, throttle and rudder is all you really need! Just like in life, amirite? Haha
The only other thing I could think of that would make this thing even slightly better is if you could somehow incorporate a trim function. But it’s not really an issue at all, it would just be a luxury haha. @Hyattorama
Absolutely! Also, if you’re making requests... maybe you could make one of these with some nice soft, mushy, floppy fully independent suspension with lots of body roll and extra suspension travel? Haha. That’s how I like my off-roaders in SP :)@LiamW
Wow thanks man! What a great review! I’m pretty happy with how she turned out too haha. Yeah, the landing gear is funky, but that’s how they fold up on the real plane (Sikorsky s-38). Except on the real plane there’s a strut that attaches on the outside of the wheels, which I couldn’t figure out how to do. And yeah, I was a little disappointed about the interior... I had a lot of plans for it but my phone couldn’t take the part count and it was just constantly crashing. So I had to leave the cockpit and cabin sorta half-finished. Maybe if I get a better machine down the line I’ll come back to it... I also had some sweet radial engines to put on there but the part count again was just wayyy too high :( but I am using that radial engine on my next build ;)
Thank you again for the kind and thoughtful words, I really enjoyed reading that :) @XjayIndustrys
Oh yeah sure I mean, if you want to haha. I was just looking over a few of your posts, I didn’t dL all of them but I played around with a couple I liked the look of. Don’t feel obligated or anything @XjayIndustrys
Back when I was playing SP before I made an account, I made a plane that I called manta ray, and it too had a shape reminiscent of the animal. Except mine flew like a brick and looked like a... brick compared to this one! Great job man.
This jet looks killer! Flies nice, too. It seems like a lot of jets in this class have a lackluster/unsatisfying pitch rate. Not this one though, especially with the canards. I’m not very good with guns or combat flying but this one seems like it would be quite effective. It could use a bit higher fuel capacity though... maybe one of those detachable external tanks? Good work!
Really interesting looking plane, very creative, I dig it, great job! Sweet landing gear too, especially the front. Well-composed and satisfying flight characteristics. And this plane is just begging to have a detailed cockpit installed behind that nice, huge, empty bubble windscreen nudge nudge ;)
That’s a great idea, thanks for the advice. I definitely struggle with patience... I get it in my head I want something and sometimes I trip on my own feet trying to get there fast. Also, thank you for the assistance and the words of encouragement and the spotlight! It’s people like you who make SP such a fantastic experience/community. @RodWan
I asked @RodWan for help and he definitely helped; I probably would have scrapped the project without his help. But still, I couldn’t get size and weight down very far. @randomusername
Either lots of spontaneous self destruct, or unmanageable torque from the rotator, or not enough thrust, or runaway acceleration, or inability to take off. Also uncontrollable flight characteristics. @randomusername
I tried to get the weight and the scale down, I was going to use the real planes wingspan as reference point for scale. But I couldn’t get it to function when I scaled size and weight. I tried forever and couldn’t get it so I just left it big and heavy... :( @randomusername
Sweet build! Looks both mechanical and organic, which is cool. Creative, fun to fly, functions better than many SP ornithopters I’ve seen. It does have a slight exploding problem it seems, but still, great job man, way to go!
I build most everything on my phone and then if I need to do anything with mods I transfer to my pc. It’s infuriatingly slow though, hence the phone. Also, I clearly don’t know what I’m doing with the mods. But with your help and others, I’m definitely starting to learn. @RodWan
Ah, okay, got it. Thanks for the info, that’s really helpful. It’s really important to me to make sure the right users get the credit and recognition they deserve when I use something of theirs. Especially because it’s usually something that I don’t know how to do/make. And I hope I get notified if I forget and leave someone out cause I’m always worrying about that. @Minecraftpoweer

+1That’s too bad... anyway, so you’re gonna tag me when you build this floppy beast, right? @LiamW @GenericWhiteGuy
+1You gotta give me both reasons haha @aplayer
Heck yeah man! @LiamW
+2Exactly! @LiamW @GenericWhiteGuy
+2Haha cool. No rush man take all the time you need @GenericWhiteGuy

Sweet, thank you! I’ll definitely keep that in mind :) @XjayIndustrys
Flies great! Awesome job man @GenericWhiteGuy

+1Is that Cruella DeVille’s car? Haha. On a more serious note; this is a truly beautiful build. Fantastic work.
+1I’d love to check it out! @Planedude

New version works great! I’m excited to try it out in a new build. Got any more instruments in mind? ;)

+1Awesome plane, love the cockpit! Way to go
Really cool looking plane!
Haha. Thank you for your input though. I just can’t get over how cool and helpful all you guys are. @Chancey21
Okay that’s a good plan. Any idea why it has increased? I don’t feel like I’m doing anything differently... @DemonSniper8
It’s my iOS machine that’s crashing though, not my pc. @Chancey21

Haha you’re right I meant to put “more realistic” since I posted another version with more power. I will make that correction now. @randomusername
+1@Tully2001 wow thank you for the feature! You guys are so cool!
Of course! :) @ProfessionalAmateur
Sweet build! Looks both mechanical and organic, which is cool. Creative, fun to fly, functions better than many SP ornithopters I’ve seen. It does have a slight exploding problem it seems, but still, great job man, way to go!
+1This plane is a work of art. I dearly lament that I cannot run it on my machine.
This is too big for my phone to handle but it looks fantastic!!

@Planedude :) thank you
@RailfanEthan Oh man youre my hero thank you hahaha
Looks fantastic! Good work on the cockpit too!
My pleasure. Keep up the great work! @LeonardoEngineering
