It will attempt to automatically handle port forwarding, if this fails (it will say "unable to open port"), you may need to setup a "fake-lan" with something like Hamachi or Tunngle, then have everyone connect to the fake-LAN and use (fake)-local IP to connect to the server This method has been briefly tested, it should work but you may run into trouble.
(The same instructions for "could not open port" may be used for "UPnP Gateway not found")
Some settings on your router (or maybe computer) are not playing nice, so you'll need to go through the extra trouble of fake-LAN to host for anyone outside your LAN (unless you can figure out the settings, but I'm afraid I can't help with that, sorry :/).
Thank you for providing a clear screenshot of the problem!
Whenever the issue is easily visible like this, a screenshot is a good quick way to "describe" what's going on :)
@RyneKuczy @GrimMantis @bspboy @1997toyotasupra I intend to put it on steam after I've fleshed out the bad bugs in the latest feature I've been working on ;)
@Ageramaster595 @MrTyTheGreat That is "localhost" which tells your computer (and the mod), "connect to THIS machine that I'm running on right now", @Ageramaster595 you need to give people your global address for them to connect, which you can get from whatismyip.com or by googling "what is my IP"
@BaconEggs oh! you're looking at the mod version there... yeah, I forgot to update that number XD
If you can run the mod without it telling you to update, you have the latest version... but I've updated the download, if it bothers anyone, so that it says 0.101 in the mod information in-game XD

The IP address you have provided is only your local area network IP, for people outside your LAN to connect you must provide them with your global IP address
@HackingAnonymous it's definitely not a virus, but if you're not hosting you don't need it.
Unless you've changed the settings (which you probably shouldn't do, for security reasons), Chrome will usually tell you that any unknown executable is potentially malicious.
The IP address you have provided is only you local area network IP, for people outside your LAN to connect you must provide us with your global IP address
@VladCelTroll I would like to try connecting to your server, since I couldn't connect to @oDDDynamics' SP server, and I doubt it was the mod or server's fault since ping requests always timed out, but I would like to confirm whether Hamachi will work.
@oDDDynamics What is the Network ID?
Since the server will only work with LAN, anyone connecting will need to use Hamachi to join your hamachi network, and then use your Hamchi-LAN IP
-name "Your Server" <-- Name your server
-tcp [port] <-- TCP port for clients to connect to
-udp [port] <-- UDP port used for communication
-udpLobby [address] [port] <-- Start or connect to a UDP lobby
-tcpLobby [address] [port] <-- Start or connect to a TCP lobby
-ip [ip] <-- Choose a specific network interface
-service <-- Run it as a service
none of these do anything for me
maybe because none of those are commands.
those are arguments you can pass to the executable when you run it, either by configuring arguments or using CMD
@oDDDynamics explain how it is convoluted.
If the executable is running, you are hosting.
To enter a command in the server, type the command.
To connect to a server, type in the IP address and hit enter.
If UPnP Gateway can't be found, or ports could not open, server will only work for LAN.
@oDDDynamics Also, it might help if you didn't check localhost, unless the server is on the same computer you're running SP on, in which case, you don't need to change them.
@Mod it worked mostly fine for you in your local IP, it just didn't get through ports or UPnP, which I gave instructions in the post for how to handle, though it has not been tested.
@tankz745 ... checkbox blank means UNchecked. checkbox with black square in it means CHECKED.
@LatteCoffee55 Ah, thanks!
This is addressed in the main post though...

@LatteCoffee55 I'm not sure what you mean, could you please clarify the problem?
@RyneKuczy @GrimMantis @bspboy @1997toyotasupra I intend to put it on steam after I've fleshed out the bad bugs in the latest feature I've been working on ;)
@CRJ900Pilot ... he answered your question...

@cobalT @BaconEggs Just remove the old version (optional), download the mod again, and install the new version.
@deusalgor Thanks! That is how the weapons damage works right now... I could have put that in the post XD
Great to hear you're enjoying it :)
@Goatrix go into the in-game "Mods" menu, select the mod, and click the "DISABLE" button.
@xXxMLGDOGE603xXx ... maybe because this is a
Mod
, where before it was apost
.The

.@WalrusAircraft Thanks!
@KINTARO Because it is not an airplane, it is a mod
@SimpleTechAndResearch Plane was created and uploaded before accounts were a thing, then it was moved over to my account after accounts were added and I made mine
@EternalDarkness @Sauce @KINTARO you can't upvote your own stuff, this is remaining evidence of a long-since-fixed bug which I reported XD
The IP address you have provided is only your local area network IP, for people outside your LAN to connect you must provide them with your global IP address
Thank you for hosting!
@xplane10 Awesome, great to hear :)
@kukimuki1234 there are no official servers, it's up to users to host them, but right now @FuzzyPickle has got his server up at 72.20.80.236
@HackingAnonymous it's definitely not a virus, but if you're not hosting you don't need it.
Unless you've changed the settings (which you probably shouldn't do, for security reasons), Chrome will usually tell you that any unknown executable is potentially malicious.
In the new Mods section, there's a button "Learn About Modding"
@Dipper Thanks! It's not Win10, since I'm using Win10, but until I track down what it IS, I'll put the command in the main post.
@JMicah4 you could try it, worst that could happen is... the computer explodes destroying the space-time continuum...
@BirdOfSteel 72.20.80.236 <----- this one seems to be up and running with a couple players on it, thanks @FuzzyPickle !!!
@xplane10 @MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation Latest version, 0.101 should allow you to use LAN when you don't have an actual connection.
@SimpleTechAndResearch Nope, just updated the mod with minor changes
The IP address you have provided is only you local area network IP, for people outside your LAN to connect you must provide us with your global IP address
Thank you for hosting!
@BirdOfSteel Make sure you all agree on where to spawn, and turn on
air-to-air targeting
It is also recommended that you also set AI traffic to
none
.@MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation people with a LAN, usually have actual internet access as well.
@xplane10 crud, didn't think about people playing on just LAN without actual internet access, I'll get an update out soon so you can play like that.
@FuzzyPickle That is your local IP, if you want people to connect they need your global IP address, which you can get by googling "what is my IP"
@BirdOfSteel What @Mod said AFTER you type the IP into the IP Address box
@oDDDynamics I can try tunngle.
@oDDDynamics @Mod was not running hamchi and connected to your fake-LAN.
I'm currently setting up hamachi.
@oDDDynamics
maybe because none of those are commands.
those are arguments you can pass to the executable when you run it, either by configuring arguments or using CMD
@oDDDynamics explain how it is convoluted.
If the executable is running, you are hosting.
To enter a command in the server, type the command.
To connect to a server, type in the IP address and hit enter.
If UPnP Gateway can't be found, or ports could not open, server will only work for LAN.
@oDDDynamics to use a server command... type it... and hit enter...
for example, to ban someone with IP address 127.0.0.1, type
ban 127.0.0.1
and hit enter.@oDDDynamics YOU ARE LITERALLY HOSTING after the exe is done spitting messages at you.
@oDDDynamics Also, it might help if you didn't check localhost, unless the server is on the same computer you're running SP on, in which case, you don't need to change them.
@oDDDynamics literally all you need to do to USE the executable is run it as listed.
The listed commands work fine, if they're not working you're doing something wrong.
If you provide screenshots maybe I can tell you what you're doing wrong.
@Mod it worked mostly fine for you in your local IP, it just didn't get through ports or UPnP, which I gave instructions in the post for how to handle, though it has not been tested.
@oDDDynamics
Literally everything you could possibly need to know is listed.
@ViciousTNT Not any time soon, Android may not even be able to handle it, and there are plenty of things to fix on PC first.
@RhysBrown read the section "TO HOST A SERVER"
@MindWarehouse ... click the download button for "PC/Mac"...
@MechWARRIOR57 doesn't seem to be an Android download anywhere.
@MechWARRIOR57 it's on the Steam Workshop.
@SuperSanic iOS version of SimplePlanes does not support mods because of Apple's policy, so no.
@Johndfg Gato did not exist as a SimplePlanes player.
