@GINGER01 Don't try to open the mod file, after it's in the folder, open SimplePlanes and go into the new "mods" menu, from there you should be able to enable it.
@bjac0 you don't need to listen necessarily (you should), but if you admit to being under the age limit... the last person had their account disabled within two minutes, you're lucky to be here this long.
To install, download the file, then move or copy it to the
SimplePlanes Mods folder, which should be located at
/Android/data/com.jundroo.SimplePlanes/files/Mods,
if the "Mods" folder isn't there, it should be fine to just create it
(make sure it's spelled just like that, "Mods").
Then go into SimplePlanes, and enable the mod in the "Mods" menu.
@Lucasmah I said mobile might not be able to handle it, and that we will probably look into Android version after PC is done, but don't know how that will turn out.
@Lucasmah Well, I think RocketLL means an API for the website, because we already have one for modding, the "mod tools" package that comes with SimplePlanes on PC.
You need to manually move the mod file (make sure it's spmod-android), to /Android/com.jundroo.SimplePlanes/Mods/, then the mods tab should show up, and you can go in and enable the mod in the mods tab.
@LukeDaDuke Sorta? But not really, this just tries to keep the Cockpit upright, by applying torque, it's currently not possible to change the angle it tries to stay at, and since my primary focus is the multiplayer mod, it's unlikely that I'll update it to support such a thing any time soon.
@Lucasmah fairly, we got the right parts to break off and not teleport, we're now onto syncing broken parts position, rotation, and when to decide to stop syncing them so many breaks/detaches won't kill all teh computerz XD
@bullman518 I might come back to it after the multiplayer mod is "done", because that is an issue with some (many) builds... I'm not worried about realism or efficiency in my builds, so I just spam the RCN, but even I find that annoying... but yeah, the multiplayer mod is my primary focus, this was a concept and test mod pretty much, but maybe I'll come back or work on it in my spare spare time. (Duplicate "spare" is on purpose, 'cause spare time is for multiplayer :P)
Also emember that you can bind it to an activation group, so you can temporarily disable it, or change the stability and/or speed of the gyro, which will make the craft tilt easier, though it'll weaken in all directions, so it's not usually ideal :(
@bullman518 I'll link you a file with the extension "spmod-android", and then you will need to download that file (duh, right? XD), and then put it in the SimplePlanes Mods folder, which should be located at Android/data/com.jundroo.simpleplanes/files/Mods, if the "Mods" folder isn't there, it should be fine to just create it.
If you can hook up to a computer, it may be easier to move the file, but if not, just use a file explorer (I used ES), select the mod file, copy it, move to the simpleplanes Mods folder, and paste it.
@Flightsonic @Skua @bullman518 I already built an early test version for Android, when it only had the gyro cockpit block, it should be really easy to update it and release to the public, I'll try it today.
@ThunderstormAviation We will probably look into Android after PC works (don't know if it will work, though), but Apple's policy makes mods impossible on iOS.
@nathanmikeska Thanks! It's a mod I've wanted to make, because I suck at both piloting and building copters... but now, with this mod, I can just throw some pieces together, hit throttle, and it stays upright!
(here's a 2 second gif of my test copter XD)
@Sirstupid Google, StackOverflow, and youtube tutorials... sorry that's all I got...
But yeah, remember that you can google almost any problem, and someone has probably had it before (until you get super advanced or into stuff that people don't do often... then, try to find the API or scripting reference for whatever you're coding with... that's when it becomes the biggest pain XD).
@Sirstupid Thanks! Luckily I usually enjoy coding, though it is still a pain XD (especially working within someone else's code base that I can't even access easily :P)
We have a sort of "dev log" here on the Steam forums, which you can subscribe to, though with lots of comments and sporadic development (still haven't posted a dev log... hopefully the next/first one will happen this month), you will probably get more notifications that are just someone commenting or us replying to comments, as in, false alarms where there's not really any new information... but you'll also be notified when there's new information, so if the false alarms aren't to much, just hit subscribe on the discussion :)
@Sirstupid Are you talking about if the devs added it or the mod?
If it's the mod, the server executable is also distributed so anyone can host a server (almost... some routers don't play nice :/), and you type the IP address to join.
If the devs added it, they could do pretty much the same thing, I think... didn't Terraria and Minecraft (and several other games) do it this way?
@FutureAviationTech No, it won't.
If you don't want to play with/against other people. you don't need to use multiplayer, and SP will be just the same for you.
@Swiftsure I went and looked it up, and from what I can find (it could be wrong, it is the internet), it's sort of the other way around, atomic bombs are a type of nuclear bomb, and then there are hydrogen and neutron bombs, which are other types of nuclear bomb (and actually use basically an A-bomb for ignition?)
@roadnate If you're on PC, me and UnstableOrbit are developing a multiplayer mod.
(We may look into an Android version after PC is done)
The server is an executable which will handle port forwarding automatically if it can, so just give people the IP if you want people to connect from outside the local network, or use IPv4 address for connecting to a server inside the local network.
And you say they can access that stuff, "and much more", well, they can access what you give the site, which is NO more than that, and not even everything you said (you don't give your name or address, they can access your IP address but as I already said that doesn't give an accurate or specific location)
They aren't some random guys, they are manually selected by the devs, and they only have access to your IP address, which you can't easily find the actual location of, just a general, like, town.
And... you don't give your name when you sign up.
And really it's just stupid to worry about it because the moderators are awesome, and very trustworthy, that's why they got the damn "job".
NO restrictions need to be applied, they may need access to the information they have access to, and they aren't going to abuse it, they are always hand-picked by the devs... and there's like, 3.
This may not work (maybe you've even tried it, and the option isn't there), but I had to use the app search for SimplePlanes, click it, then hit "update" where the buy button would be if I hadn't owned it.
@GINGER01 A new category, "Gyroscopic", which will probably be located at the bottom of the categories.
@GINGER01 No problem :)
@GINGER01 Just remove it, or put a space there instead.
@GINGER01 remove the "%20", and see if that works...
@GINGER01 You put the "Gyro Cockpits.spmod-android" file in
/Android/data/com.jundroo.SimplePlanes/files/Mods
?It should be a button at the main menu...
@GINGER01 Don't try to open the mod file, after it's in the folder, open SimplePlanes and go into the new "mods" menu, from there you should be able to enable it.
Also, yes, there is a mod so you can put lights on your plane, check out the posts of isod89 on this site. (https://www.SimplePlanes.com/u/isod89)
Me and UnstableOrbit are developing a mod for multiplayer.
(Android: we will probably look into it after PC; iOS: impossible because of Apple's policy)
(Release date To Be Decided)
@bjac0 you don't need to listen necessarily (you should), but if you admit to being under the age limit... the last person had their account disabled within two minutes, you're lucky to be here this long.
@bjac0 He's quoting your post... possibly saying you should have censored it.
Also, the privacy policy that you must agree to on this site says no children under 13...
@GINGER01

@UnstableOrbit Of course I do... it doesn't mean he's not taunting us, just because we could do it...
But it was a joke -_-
@AndrewGarrison Now you're just taunting us!
:P
@Lucasmah I said mobile might not be able to handle it, and that we will probably look into Android version after PC is done, but don't know how that will turn out.

@TheRemesy the iOS version of SimplePlanes doesn't support mods because of Apple's policy, whether jailbroken or not, so no, sorry.
@bullman518 I might come back to it after the multiplayer mod is "done", because that is an issue with some (many) builds... Looking forward to your design with it!
@bullman518 Here you go!
@bullman518 Pretty much, though I forgot to mention that you need to enable it in the "mods" menu that should show up in the main SimplePlanes menu XD
and you're welcome, I've almost got it ready, so I can upload it soon :)
@bullman518 I'll link you a file with the extension "spmod-android", and then you will need to download that file (duh, right? @Aerobako No, Apple's policy doesn't allow the devs to upload the moddable version to the iOS app store :/
@Flightsonic @Skua @bullman518 I already built an early test version for Android, when it only had the gyro cockpit block, it should be really easy to update it and release to the public, I'll try it today.

I released a test and concept mod, Gyroscopic Cockpits
(everyone remember, to view this you need to be signed in and you need to be in the SimplePlanes modder group)
@TheMajesticMrL Thanks =D
A color is formatted like this in the xml:
Material color="FFFFFF" r="0.3" m="0.5" s="0.93"
s="0.93" is the gloss, and 0.93 is gloss set to gloss
Edit: 1.0 is max, and it's like a mirror if color is white... but the reflections are low resolution.
@Sirstupid Google, StackOverflow, and youtube tutorials... sorry that's all I got...

@max12 you mean you created a mod with Unity?
Then you need to upload the .spmod file somewhere like drop box, or Google drive, and give people the download link.
@FutureAviationTech No, it won't.
If you don't want to play with/against other people. you don't need to use multiplayer, and SP will be just the same for you.
@Flightsonic Here's the light's mod
(or here, for Android)
@Nickasaurus Yes...
@AnarchistAerospaceIndustries That's what I'm saying...
Were you using Inferno missiles? Those are the only air-to-ground missiles, so they're the only ones that can lock onto ground targets.
/r is results... here's the actual voting page

@JMicah4 I'm glad to help :)
I got it on my kindle fire HDX.
This may not work (maybe you've even tried it, and the option isn't there), but I had to use the app search for SimplePlanes, click it, then hit "update" where the buy button would be if I hadn't owned it.
This is amazing... just don't fire knuckle guns and rockets at the same time, it blows up XD
This thing runs on my kindle fire HDX with settings maxed, so it's probably mobile friendly at least on low for many devices :)
Me and UnstableOrbit are working on a multiplayer mod.
"Today" is the last 24 hours.
You uploaded one plane 10 hours ago, and another plane 12 hours ago.
Wait until it's been 24 hours since you uploaded.
@Flightsonic I forgot everyone thinks any fiddling with settings or routers or computers at all is hacking... good luck!
@Flightsonic But anyway, that's just for hosting the server, if you're not worried to much about being the host, then it's not a problem...
If you do wanna be the host, then... IDK, threaten your router, or beat it until it does what you say to :P
