@Ezri Thanks! Hopefully I can get the opacity slider to actually work, because I'd be much happier releasing the mod if you can at least tweak the transparency of this inefficient code ;)
Since you've gotten the answer you wanted, I'll tell you what it really means (in general, not specific to SimplePlanes), XML stands for "eXtensible Markup Language", which is just a pretty looking text file that can be used several ways to allow for a very flexible format to read and store data in.
@Ezri @MrSilverWolf @Jetspeed1001 Black magic!
Actually, I just duplicated the parts and threw a script on them to make them transparent... it renders kinda funny sometimes (shadows on the runway, for one example), and is terribly inefficient XD
The disableAircraftCollisions attribute is available on all parts, but the new wheels never properly clipped into parts before, unlike most parts it collided with parts it was clipped into :/
Cthulhu is real, maybe the directions were wrong, or you made a mistake, but Cthulhu (people keep calling it kraken, but it's Cthulhu), is really in the game.
The jumping is because of the ignore floating origin script, because what that script does is it keeps the games floating origin from repositioning it, and really it's not what's "jumping", that's everything else, so the plane never gets to far from Vector3.Zero (the center of the "world"), to prevent floating point errors.
The hovering, I'm not sure about.... but really ignore floating origin shouldn't be on anything except, for example, GUI, which should never be to far from Vector3.Zero, and should stay in the exact same "real position" at all times.
@deusalgor Andrew Garrison explained it below in the comments:
we are just trying to keep the wing properties as simple as possible for new users. It looks very weird to cycle through Trim for control surface input and then have another trim setting right below that to enable/disable the actual trim setting.
@jsaret I uh... just realized that a block in-game is 0.5 meters, not 1, so the cockpit is only 1 meter long, and the light is even smaller than I thought... maybe 11 pounds is a bit heavy, IDK...
@jsaret Just wanna mention that the light is probably around the size of your head (Actually this is a terrible estimate that's more like a guess... and I'm now thinking not quite that big, idk), as the standard cockpit is 2 meters long... that's not a "little" light.
Edit: sorry, the cockpit is 1 meter long, not 2... maybe the light really isn't that big :/
@Viper28 I tried the "new color guns", you XML edit the hex value for the color, though unfortunately there's no way to make them glow like lasers, it's still cool.
Before I explain nudging, you need to know that you cannot nudge on a mobile device (Sorry)
This isn't true, you just need something to bind the nudge input to, like a keyboard, or some have even used headphone buttons (that doesn't always work though, depends on device and headphones).
If you're on Android and don't have anything to bind nudge to, you can try my fine tuner mod, though it does have some minor bugs.
ANY TEXT EDITOR WILL WORK, just open notepad, installed on all Windows machines by default.
P.S. Unless you have less than 100kb/s download speed, downloading notepad++ would almost definitely not take as long as it will take someone else to fulfill your request.
We are hoping to release on mobile sometime this towards the end of this month. We are not exactly sure what features will make it into mobile, but we will make sure we get all parts on mobile. Unfortunately the new islands will never make it to mobile since they are huge.
@xboxsparta321 first off, there is NOTHING on the kraken but the legends, so it doesn't matter for the calculations we have in this "battle", I already said drop the "what if", but I will say that, the what if you've come up with also doesn't matter, as warrior of a God doesn't stand up to a FAR MORE POWERFUL GOD..
Slightly off topic note: My best friend Cthulhu has told me to ignore you, as you're not even worth the recognition of a reply, but I've disobeyed him this once, but that won't happen again.
@xboxsparta321 "What if"? No, there's no what if, following the legends and stories, the kraken is either a huge crab or a huge squid, limited to the sea and non-magic powers, and Cthulhu is an equally (or more) huge GOD, who has basically no limits. Cthulhu the god wins with no troubles against the practically-mortal squid.
Unfortunately the landing gear sticks out the top when fully retracted with VTOL down (though VTOL up Doesn't stick out, it looks kinda funny :P), but it's a wonderful landing gear system!
Pitch makes sense for something that big I guess, but I always like over-powered pitch :P
@Johawks1976 Bugger off, Steam is FAR easier to develop for, and more reliable for bug reports, if they stuck this on mobile now it could very easily be so broken it wiped your files, and on mobile that's much harder to backup and manage.
@SimpleTechAndResearch Currently there is no set player limit, and hopefully that will be a host option, but really it depends on all players PCs combined with how big the designs are (physics are turned off on other people's designs, but tons of parts still takes a tiny bit to render, and then there's parts detaching and stuff), and bandwidth (this is less relative to how big a design is, unless it detaches/breaks, since the main craft is synced as one instead of individual parts, but when parts break they are synced separately).
For official modding, see here (requires PC, though), for XML editing see here, but instead of the folders mentioned there for the game files, on Android you go to /Android/data/com.jundroo.SimplePlanes/files/.
@Somethingismadebyme @fishheads88 The name doesn't need to indicate everything you can do in the game.
And with all the CAR ENGINES, WHEELS, PISTONS, NEW ROTATORS, AND SHOCKS that they just added, the game isn't simple anymore as it is, adding a simple torque option would hardly make it less simple.
They are not invincible, I destroyed the missile launchers fairly easy, just fly close before you launch the missiles at them (or if you're a good aim maybe try bombing, but I'm not a good aim so idk how that'll work XD), pull away, then get some distance, and go for another run.
If they don't add them to mobile, it's because most mobile devices CAN'T HANDLE THEM.
To anyone thinking "oh but my device could" - you don't know that, large terrains in Unity can be incredibly taxing.
It's completely amazing what the devs have already brought to mobile, there's almost no (if any) other mobile games that are so flexible and advanced and awesome, because mobile can't handle it.
The devs put a lot of time into optimizing stuff for mobile as it is, they CAN'T make it "equal" because the devices ARE NOT EQUAL.
Simply looking upon the creature drives the viewer insane
No exceptions are stated, Kraken likely won't be able to keep himself thinking straight.
And if you read up on it, Cthulhu is basically a god, and could very easily rip apart a multi-billion dollar space craft, as well as a kraken that can't do anything but flail aimlessly.
@Ezri Thanks! Hopefully I can get the opacity slider to actually work, because I'd be much happier releasing the mod if you can at least tweak the transparency of this inefficient code ;)

That looks almost exactly like my modified little bugger for the same purpose! Well, at a glance... except mine sucks :P
@Ezri @MrSilverWolf @Jetspeed1001 Black magic!

@Skua Er, no the slider still doesn't work ='(
in the
[Part ...]
tag you put disableAircraftCollisions="true", so `[Part disableAircraftCollisions="true" ...]Note: the tags actually use the angled brackets (a.k.a "less than" and "greater than" signs), but I can't post that in the comments.
The disableAircraftCollisions attribute is available on all parts, but the new wheels never properly clipped into parts before, unlike most parts it collided with parts it was clipped into :/
@SimpleTechAndResearch that's what I JUST SAID, it IS in the game -_-
Cthulhu is real, maybe the directions were wrong, or you made a mistake, but Cthulhu (people keep calling it kraken, but it's Cthulhu), is really in the game.
@Dalton02 there DEFINITELY was not a sub a year ago, and I'm fairly certain there still isn't.
@AceSquadIndustries it will be released to the public, when it's ready, and we aren't gonna charge for it.
It's actually Cthulhu, but congrats :)
@Skua this is just an inverted fuselage, you can't see out of it, or partially see it both ways :/
SimplePlanes was originally built on Unity 4....
The jumping is because of the ignore floating origin script, because what that script does is it keeps the games floating origin from repositioning it, and really it's not what's "jumping", that's everything else, so the plane never gets to far from Vector3.Zero (the center of the "world"), to prevent floating point errors.

It's A :)

@CreeperProGaming I hope so, since I used ES on my kindle fire HDX, through the amazon app store...
@CreeperProGaming I use ES File Explorer, but I hear Astro is good too, just use whatever works for you.

@Flightsonic well the title has a 'u' between c and t, so... I guess so...
@Flightsonic put what wrong?
@Flightsonic they did update the mod tools, but they didn't change much, and they don't include many of their scripts in the mod tools anyway...
For Cthulhu? Scripts the devs wrote, which are not included in the mod tools (why would they be? XD)...
in the original 1.4 beta post, they said they will get all parts on mobile.

@Johndfg Black magic ;)
Looks great!
The engines are a bit deafening, though ;)
Fair speed, about 1000mph at 6k feet.
Unfortunately the landing gear sticks out the top when fully retracted with VTOL down (though VTOL up Doesn't stick out, it looks kinda funny :P), but it's a wonderful landing gear system!

@Glaceon so yelling turns it into PC Master Ace? I said spell, not capitalize, learn to English.
@Glaceon if you're gonna try to claim PCMasterRace, at least frickin spell it correctly, otherwise it's even more pathetic.

TL;DR yes.
@JoeySellers
@AndrewGarrison @PhilipTarpley @NathanMikeska ??????????
For official modding, see here (requires PC, though), for XML editing see here, but instead of the folders mentioned there for the game files, on Android you go to
/Android/data/com.jundroo.SimplePlanes/files/
.XML editing the tracer colors is currently broken, but when they release the next build ("hopefully in a day or two"), I think it will be fixed.

@xEliteGamingx It has the new wheels and stuff, in the steam beta ;)
Dibs on flying cars? I already did that!, Though I'm sure I wasn't the first.

@bskngshrk in the same menu as the save and load options, there is a new option "Aircraft Properties" (or something similar) (only on PC right now).
Haha, that's really cool!
I'm still trying to manage to get inside his head... I'm not a good pilot XD
HEY!!! What'd you do with the mod tools package!?!?!?
I was gonna check it to see if you added anything :'(
