@DelphFoxFan From military forces that have gone rogue. As order collapsed and the chain of command broke down, some air bases turned to raiding (or trading with outlaws) to keep themselves supplied. This would aim to use guns first with missiles being a last resort. It's easier to replace bullets than missiles, and if you want to raid something you're not going to blow it to smithereens.
@Baldovino Thanks! I found that using a tiny fuselage block and the basic landing gear was less weight than the wing landing gear, and I didn't have to adjust the dihedral of the wing too much. I had to have them forward of the propeller as well, otherwise the plane fell over when trying to take off.
@klaudykolo Thanks for the feedback. I get what you're saying about it not being great for races, it has trouble making some of the corners at max throttle. Not sure about the combat thing, though - I've tested it out against the AI and it seems to do pretty well. I'd like to put more guns on it, but that's not allowed under the rules of the challenge.
I've uploaded my Bantam as a successor plane. I'm playing on the PC and couldn't find an option to change the physics settings, so I hope it still works on whatever settings you're using.
@Plasma Thank you! I think it's down to my winning strategy of being the only person to enter. But seriously, thanks for doing this competition - it was an interesting build, I'm happy with how it turned out, and I learned a bit about how to design my planes better as well.
My entry's in. Did anyone else have to make their plane LESS manoueverable? My first attempts were OK for me to fly, but the AI couldn't cope with them.

I'm in, my Sky Bandit plane is up as a successor.
Thanks for the silver! Tag me in your next challenge as well - this was really interesting.
I'm in, my Titan is uploaded as a successor.
I'm in, my Slugmaw is uploaded as a successor.
I'm in, my Diffusion is uploaded as a successor.
I'm in, my entry is my Skydrifter, found at https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/I8fOBN/GP-40-Skydrifter
I posted one, but I don't know if any paint schemes can be as epic as your plane - it's awesome!
@salvador3031 Thanks. I was trying to keep the idea of minimal parts in mind, and that was some empty space I could use.
I'm in. My Trinity Thrustchannel is up as a successor and ready for testing.
I'm in, my Seafrog is uploaded as a successor.
I'm in. My Tallboy Triplane is uploaded as a successor - and it can beat the Focke-Wolf in an AI duel.
@TheWilliamjbq Thank you very much, it was an enjoyable challenge.
I'm in! My Channel Fireball is uploaded as a successor plane.
I've just uploaded my Micro Gull as another successor. If I'm not allowed a second entry it can just be another example plane.

I'm in. Interesting challenge, it was harder than I thought it would be.
Just put my third and final entry in. Cool challenge, thanks for putting it up.
I like this design. It looks good, and it's got good stability in flight. You must have put a bit of time into this design.

I'm in. I've submitted my Sandstorm as a successor plane.
A map, with the ability to select a destination and have the direction appear on-screen in the game.
I've uploaded my Bantam as a successor plane. I'm playing on the PC and couldn't find an option to change the physics settings, so I hope it still works on whatever settings you're using.
My GP-29 Hermes entry is now submitted as a successor.
My three entries are now in. One land, one sea, one air.
I've just uploaded my Green Meanie interceptor as a successor plane.
@Plasma Thank you! I think it's down to my winning strategy of being the only person to enter. But seriously, thanks for doing this competition - it was an interesting build, I'm happy with how it turned out, and I learned a bit about how to design my planes better as well.

@salvador3031 There are some small ones. I experimented with having more, but ran into stability problems.
@Sirstupid Yay! Thank you!
My two entries are now in. One fighter, one bomber.
Re-uploaded my entry so it actually shows up as a successor plane.
I've uploaded my entry.
