Someone could probably make this without mods. I forget the parameters for making a plane that will randomly spawn, but if someone made a "flock of birds" plane that met those specs, it would randomly appear like other aircraft sometimes do.
@shipster Yeah, anti satellite missiles are a thing. The Foxes are well suited to the task because of their speed and altitude capabilities The Foxbat had awesome speed and height, whereas the Foxhound has a much better sensor array.
@shipster I love the Foxbat. She was my first upload, and probably my favorite Sov jet. But let's be fair here! The Mig-25 wasn't ready for service until 1970, 16 years after the F-104 first took flight. That's a whole generation of aircraft, like comparing a Yak-3 with a Mig-15.
The Soviet fighters designed at the same time as the Starfighter were the Mig-19 "Farmer" and the Su-9 Fishpot. But neither of these planes hold up very well in terms of performance. Eventually, the Soviets developed the excellent Mig-21 Fishbed and the upgraded Sukhoi Su-9 (known as the Su-11) which were more than a match for the Starfighter, but by then the USA had gone all-in for the F-4 Phantom, which was the top dog untill the Foxbat came online in 1970.
@Hyattorama No, thank you! These Schneider Cup racers are some of my favorite planes, and this is the best Castoldi I've ever seen. I'm actually a bit upset more people haven't upvoted this thing.
First off: stability. As you know, center of lift (yellow) goes behind the center of mass (blue). The further apart they are, the more effort it takes to turn. If they get too far apart, the nose will feel "heavy" even at very high speed. The closer together they are, the easier it is to turn. If they are too close together, the plane will stall easily and spin out of control in turns. The main idea here is balance, check out this image. If you think of lift as a rope holding up the plane, think of mass as another rope pulling down. You control the elevators in the tail, balancing the plane out. The further forward that mass goes, the harder you have to pull on those elevators to keep things balanced.
@Kentheman OMG THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU if there is anything I can do to help you, please let me know. This plane is a big deal for me and I think you and Zhou have the talent to make it something really special.
I am certainly impressed by the level detail. You seem to have added a few extra MFD's and moved an overhead panel onto the top of the dashboard, but perhaps not all H models are identical anymore? Keep in mind that instrument panel is 50 years old and has been in continuous use for that time. Old and worn, with a single MFD for each pilot awkwardly crammed into each side, completely out of place next to the antique analog gauges.
My only real complaint is the throttle. The insane looking cluster of 16 individiual sticks is one of the most iconic parts of the plane and easily sets it apart from a generic airliner.
@atgxtg You can bypass consumption by multiplying the thrust (or horsepower) and then decreasing max throttle input. The only downside there is the engine becomes excessively quiet.
This forum is becoming some sort of depressing retirement community for played out memes. Re-live the halcyon days of 2013 with a delightful rickroll. SWAG!
@Strikefighter04 The best police reports usually come from Florida. I read one where a guy got busted for throwing a live alligator through a drive-thru window at somebody.
I am going to say yes, because it is a good idea and people need to learn more about aviation from before WW2. Besides @jamesPLANESii is used to me disagreeing with him.
@Dutterbro1 You could simulate that by having a weighted shutter placed in front of the cockpit block. The shutter would be mounted to a deactivated rotator that would "flex," allowing the shutter to briefly swing down, obscuring vision for a short time.
@whereby No! I just never realized they used the same model for the first 4 movies. After she was destroyed in Star Trek 3, I figured it was something new in 4.
Me: I'm not buying this. The tank is literally exploding.
Salesman: Exploding with value! Come on! I can knock off 5-k and give you 12 months of zero interest.
Me: 12 months, you say?

+1I-5's can game, depending on the model. But you should probably scale that 8 up to 16.
+1If I can still make propeller aircraft, then yes.

+1GO HERE scroll through the videos till you spot something interesting. Watch the video then build the thing.
+1@Hyattorama Absolutely. And the presentation is great. Keep up the good work!

+1AMAZING

DIVIDE BY ZERO!
GAME OVER MAN! GAME EFFIN OVER!
+1@randomusername And thus, you begin to see the drawbacks of equipment designed to inexpensively kill, not safely or comfortably transport humans.
+1@ViciousTNT Why have cockpit windows at all?
+1Nah
@Minecraftpoweer
+1The wings on this should work.
+1Flashbacks from War Thunder Arcade, incoming!
+1THIS IS NOT A MESSERSCHMITT
+1It's all good. X-Jay stole one of my jokes last week and got seven upvotes.
+1It looks great, but you need to learn how to make stuff that can takeoff and land safely.
+1Landing gear is too far back, should be at the center of the plane, otherwise looks awesome!
+1CLICKABLE LINK
+1@randomusername Yeah, but nose-droop is literally the best case scenario in the event of a stall.

+1@RailfanEthan Exactly! And the designs themselves are a means of expanding the virtual machine of his sentience!
+1@RailfanEthan Do we have positive confirmation that @SledDriver is actually human and not some other form of sentience?
+1You make clickable links [by typing a description in here](and the url in here).
Now go tell all your friends.
+1Your style favors futurism. Kind of reminds me of retro electro. So, Tron, I guess?
+1@randomusername Some day it'll be the future, but not yet.
See what I did there? :D

I INSIST YOU INCLUDE THIS
Also, the panels are flat light grey, like this

+1One hell of a jump in quality!
Nice work, man!

OFC a mod would be better...
+1Fun fact: Artem Mikoyan grew up in Armenia's famous wine region, he was absolutely amused at all the booze this thing drank.
+1@whereby No! I just never realized they used the same model for the first 4 movies. After she was destroyed in Star Trek 3, I figured it was something new in 4.
+1lol harsh, but truth. I do love the extreme detailers, though. Those ppl make of of the coolest stuff I've seen on the internet.
+1Glenn Miller, In the mood
If you're into trumpets, you might be better off getting into bebop than swing, but I guess it's a matter of preference.
+1Normally I don't like these anime planes, but this one looks really good.
