I see spotlights as something for new guys who need the boost while they get better. Great Old Ones like you and Raptor and Boggy, people know you, know your quality and style and reputation. You've made a name for yourself and I think you should wear that name with pride.
@Kaos No in between here, either the wing is textured (120 parts x 4 wings, plus another ~40 for the tail) or it isn't (~50 parts for all wings and tail combined).
@Mattangi This is my most obnoxious build so far. Most of the part count is in "decals" like the shark mouth and lettering. If I just left it flat black, it would probably top out around 450 parts.
@DarthAbhinav @chancey21 I see where you're coming from, but consider that even on a top-spec system, a lower part count will have a noticeable impact on performance, especially with physics and shadows turned all the way up.
@Thoum Make the wheel smaller? Retractable landing gear is always tricky because it has to look right, work right and fit right. No easy task. I still can't quite figure out how the MIG-23 gear fits in that tiny space.
The key to making custom gear is "disable aircraft collisions." It's a feature that lets parts of your plane pass through each other. The easiest way to do it is to get the Overload mod from the mod section on this site. You're running windows, so it should be no trouble to get working. Mods like Overload and Finetuner will allow you to make things you never thought possible.
@Alien You just fit the wing to a rotor and set the rotor input to "pitch." You have to fiddle with the max roation and they don't handle as well as regular elevators, though.
I've been experimenting with modded wings lately, and I'm beginning to think that building "fake" fuselage block wings and then hiding tiny, modded wings inside the fuselage body of the plane is the way to go. Either way, anything involving rotors needs to added LAST because they are very tricky and buggy, so its best to get all the non-moving stuff done first.
Needing help to get followers is like going out to dinner so you can take a dump. It's all backwards. Make good builds, make things you like and other people will maybe like it too. Maybe, but not always. You'll enjoy this game a lot more if you build stuff you like instead of worrying about pleasing people you dont know.
@EternalDarkness Hey, I'm making progress with my trainer but I just remembered a potential obstacle. In the past I've had trouble making contest entries successor. I use the contest cockpit, but it doesn't always work properly. I think it has to do with me resizing (or otherwise modifying) the cockpit part, but I sort of need to shrink it so it doesn't make my plane look weird. I will do my utmost to get it to list as a successor, but it may require a bit of patience. Thoughts? Advice?
OK, so the short fix is use a gyro. The gyro will probably interfere with pitch, though.
The long answer is that the reason your plane wants to nose-down is because the engines are too high. Seaplanes have to mount the engines up high, resulting in a center of thrust that pulls the nose downward (just like having an engine on only one wing would pull the plane in circles). The real-life solution for this problem is a big, strong tail that can pull the nose back up again. Check it out: Catalina, Hercules, Sunderland; they've all got HUGE elevators. Pulling up all the time is a pain, so another thing that can help is if you angle the horizontal tail downwards 1 or 2 degrees so that it constantly pulls the nose (or attach it to a VTOL rotor so you can adjust it as needed).
I've seen this happen, but I never could figure out how. The last time I came across it was on someone else's plane, he had some relatively small turrets and they were real wobbly.
@QingyuZhou No problem.

+3Badger Badger Badger
PRETTY COOL

@DarthAbhinav Hey, whats up?
Well, it sounds like I should make both versions. People seem quite evenly split on this question.
@PhantomBladeCorp Hey, thanks. I admire your skill and your input is more than welcome.
@AstleyIndustries @Bogdanx You guys are smart, what do you think?
@DemonSniper8 I like to think of it as a title. Like The 3rd Count of Buckingshire. The 8th Demon Sniper.
@Bossboy666657 Actually, no. It's very blocky and geometric, mostly tubes and right angled boxes.
PZL M-15 Belphegor
@Cars1000 Rightfully so!

Are you the 8th demon that snipes or did you snipe 8 demons?
@Alien I should have something up withing the next week or so. I've been building a trainer for EternalDarkness's challenge.

+1@Alien Yeah, you got it. And it is pretty!
Stunning.
Awesome choice, awesome job! Is this your first post? Impressive.
Supersonic aircraft almost never have elevators, but this is a very detailed build. Good job.
+1Simple, but good.
Very nice.
Not sure how ppl manage to post one of these every day.
Kthxbye

+2Once you learn xml editing, you'll be able to make it go the right speed. This is a great start, welcome to S-P!
@Jetpackturtle I dunno, there's a couple people on here that are always posting wierd stuff like pencils, vegetables and other non-vehicles.
@Jetpackturtle OMG! ALDERAAN! We need to get that guy who always builds food and office supplies to make Alderaan!
@EternalDarkness Thanks, I didn't know that about the code. That will help.

@goboygo1 XD Yeah, I guess that part of the code is self contained. Hmmm...
This is good work
@Dllama4 You'd be surprised how much America has contributed to Russian technology over the years... XD
+1Reminds me of that Russian oil burner, the Kusnetsov.
+1Please use this to make something.
WINNING!
@Awsomur Good luck!
+1@Awsomur Thats awesome, you got a link for it?
@Awsomur No problems with it trying to nose down on you?
@Awsomur Cool. How'd you do it?
@Awsomur Any progress?
VERY #$@%ING COOL!

Slower, better Mig25 = Mig31
Stug life!
