My game crashes after two or 3 hundred thousand mph or so. Nowhere near a mill. But maybe at higher altitudes and on lower settings it allows more. Games don't handle large numbers well, things get hypothetical and then they just plain quit making sense at all. Certain data values have a hard limit, others just get blurry.
The real question is, does the person posting the challenge deserve all the sucessor points that they'll get off of other people? Most challenges are pretty awesome, but I've seen a lot of "LOL, sorry guys. 2 busy 2 judge"* posts lately. Some people won't even take the time to properly link the winning build in the completion announcement.
This forum is becoming some sort of depressing retirement community for played out memes. Re-live the halcyon days of 2013 with a delightful rickroll. SWAG!
Long story short, the COM should be directly in front of the main wings and the main landing gear (main landing gear is usually even with the main wings). Try to put the COL two or three blocks behind it. The further apart you make the COM and COL, the more stable (and nose-heavy) the plane will be. The closer together, the more agile (easy to turn up or down) the plane will be.
(Just some extra info here, I'm not trying to be your boss) when airplanes take off and land, the do a wheelie. The nose lifts and they ride on the main wheels (the big ones usually under thevwings) that pulls extra air over the wings and gives them extra lift, allowing the plane to take off at a much slower speed than if it were nose-level. Heres a photo of what I mean
I say all that because most planes are designed around the center of mass. The wings go a little bit behind it and so do the main landing gear. It makes it easier to balance and a lot easier to control. Just make sure to keep the red ball 3 or 4 blocks ahead of the landing gear and the blue ball.
@The1Big1Finger1111 Just suggestions. You seem like you put in a lot of effort, judging by the wings, nose, bomb bay and part count, I'd say you spent quite a bit of time and the front half looks pretty good.
Consider looking at diagrams of real life aircraft, you can learn a lot about how they work. The tail fins and landing gear may seem like minor details compared to things like bombs and guns, but the fins let you steer and the landing gear keeps you from crashing. Most pilots would find that a lot more important than weapons.
@Strikefighter04 The best police reports usually come from Florida. I read one where a guy got busted for throwing a live alligator through a drive-thru window at somebody.
@klm747klm747 Upvoting is more or less by chance unless you make something good enough for the front page, and it doesn't matter when you post something that good.
That guy posted as a joke. Funny jokes will get upvotes, but they won't teach you how to build better stuff. This game is littered with gold and platinum users that absolutely suck at building. They posted a few lucky memes and got some attention, but now they run around crying about how no one upvotes their stuff anymore because they never bothered to learn anything.
Don't worry about it. Just focus on learning how to build the stuff you want to play with. Make the truck/plane/boat/cheeseburger/etc. that you can enjoy playing with.
I am going to say yes, because it is a good idea and people need to learn more about aviation from before WW2. Besides @jamesPLANESii is used to me disagreeing with him.
@Dutterbro1 You could simulate that by having a weighted shutter placed in front of the cockpit block. The shutter would be mounted to a deactivated rotator that would "flex," allowing the shutter to briefly swing down, obscuring vision for a short time.
Small complaint, you've got the air-to-air nosed version carrying ground attack missiles. And before you say it, yes I know that's not the point here. This plane is an obsession of mine, so I compulsively had to say something.
@whereby No! I just never realized they used the same model for the first 4 movies. After she was destroyed in Star Trek 3, I figured it was something new in 4.
@whereby Nope. I'm just on the forums. I mostly play Fallout these days. Besides, I prefer the 1701-A. I can let you salvage modded parts from my planes or answer questions tho.
@AdlerSteiner NP You gotta make what inspires you. There's a guy on here that spent years making similar planes one after the other, with slight improvements. People criticized the lack of variety, but in the end he was the best maker of large aircraft on the whole site, rivaled only by TSAD.
E is for
OH MY GOD GUYS PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO ME.
Hovering is a simple maneuver since when?
Great, thanks.

Good luck.
@BaconEggs Whoa, he said EA, not Star Citizen!
@The1Big1Finger1111 Oh yeah, I'm not that good at flying either. Long story short, put the main gear under the main wings, not the tail.
Good luck w the contest
Shes got my vote, the wings and tail look great!

1/5 Not funny, original or interesting. Poor grammar. Ineffective use of capslock. Would not read again.

+1Yup, FOX is usually good for a laugh or two.
+1@sandyshores Thats impressive
@XjayIndustrys What can I say? Slow day at work.
+1She's a real beauty!
Very cool looking armored car.
@Benderisgreta123 He's in for a real treat when he discovers modded engines.
You made this whole thing?
Congratulations on your first upload!
@Trainzo Bel avion Bien joué
@ChiChiWerx It didn't like to do much of anything besides crash!

UPVOTES DONT MATTER

+1@doge Blew all my friends minds when I told them the "fatman" from Fallout was a real thing.
This comes pretty close to meeting the legal definition of assault.
Hmmm, how about a short-range mortar that launches nuclear weapons? Stupid idea number 436. Thanks, America!
I like art, but not social media.

OFC a mod would be better...

Fun fact: Artem Mikoyan grew up in Armenia's famous wine region, he was absolutely amused at all the booze this thing drank.
+1Nice
@Maxwell1
Wise words, amigo.
Nope. Not funny.
@whereby No! I just never realized they used the same model for the first 4 movies. After she was destroyed in Star Trek 3, I figured it was something new in 4.
+1@whereby Yeah. The model from the first 4 movies, but not the show. It was called the 1701 in the first 3.
@whereby Nope. I'm just on the forums. I mostly play Fallout these days. Besides, I prefer the 1701-A. I can let you salvage modded parts from my planes or answer questions tho.
Ok. What sort of response are you hoping to get regarding the news of this previously unknown, now cancelled project?
lol harsh, but truth. I do love the extreme detailers, though. Those ppl make of of the coolest stuff I've seen on the internet.
+1Glenn Miller, In the mood
If you're into trumpets, you might be better off getting into bebop than swing, but I guess it's a matter of preference.
+1@whereby Yup, that worked.
@exosuit You could ask @Hellfirekoder he might know.
