I build historical planes on here because I want to share that history with other people. I want them to learn about this stuff and the men and women that flew and built and fixed and died in them. The idea of thousands of people enjoying something I worked on is also very appealing to me. If somebody reuploads it, and they follow the rules, that just doesn't bother me. @randomusername @Jerrrrrrrrry
I don't see the problem with successors. You get points if other people repost your stuff and it clearly links back to your creation so people can see for themselves.
You're travelling on a bus from Atlanta, Georgia to Toronto, Ontario. The bus averages 20mpg, begins the trip with 3/4 of a tank, avoids toll roads and never exceeds the speed limit. Assuming the fuel tank has a capacity of 500 gallons, what is your favorite WWII aircraft and why is it actually the P-47 Thunderbolt?
Even though it only entered service at the end of the war, there was quite a bit of variety with the Widow. The differences between the B and C models seem significant and to complicate matters, air crews often made modifications in the field. For instance, the robotic turret (which was heavy, unreliable and difficult to maintain) was often removed entirely to save weight.
@MethaManAircraft Is correct, the C model had turbos that gave it the full 2800hp per engine. The wikipedia line art is of a B model, without turbos. From what images I've seen, there seems to be relatively small intakes at the 4 and 8 o'clock position of each engine cowling on the P-61C. Still, this is a very nice plane you've built, certainly something to be proud of!
@qwerty132 The joke builds are fine. I don't like that they take up precious slots on the front page, but otherwise a good laugh can be just as important as the player guided cruise missile system that I spent weeks developing and testing for my latest aircraft.
@CookieCrumz It may seem like that sometimes, but it's not the case. Newer players have always felt this way and the recipe for success has always been to make visually impressive preview pictures that can land your creation on the front page. Each week somebody manages to do that with their second or third build. The mods are more than eager to feature a new player with an impressive design.
While it is true that airplanes get most of the upvotes, they key to getting them is to make it to the front page. You accomplish that by taking good screen shots, having a visually impressive build or a unique concept. You'll get there, keep trying.
@ThePilotDude I have a feeling that with the right features, some of our more talented builders could make some pretty fun ships (military or civilian) but I also see where you're coming from.
@TheFantasticTyphoon I only build planes, myself. Hell, I only make replicas of planes, my idea of variety is the number of engines. But I do admire the detail people cram into trucks and tanks and ships on here.
@TrislandianAlliance Mig-21 Fishbed, Mig-25 Foxbat Neither plane is supermaneuverable, but I assume you're talking about the Fishbed because the Foxbat is severely G-limited by its stainless steel construction and higher wing loading. The Fishbeds light weight and delta wing cause it to bleed off speed at an alarming rate when it pitches up sharply.
@SpiritusRaptor Wow, thanks man. I've always been a big fan of your builds on here. I was going to include a tutorial for using the missiles but my MSpaint skills aren't up to the task. The key is to fly in a direction where you know where you're headed, so you don't get lost. Don't fly directly towards the target, try to offset your heading by 30 degrees or so and use the missiles to correct the difference, that way the ship never has a chance to hit you. I've also found its helpful to aim the missile well above the target until the last kilometer or so, that way you can easily adjust your horizontal aim before diving in.
@Blyatsickle I started out by carefully choosing the size and location of the wings to give enough lift to take off, but not too much lift. The main wings have regular ailerons, but the horizontal tails are all-moving. Then I attached the horizontal tails to rotators that are set with inputs that are something like clamp01(PItch+.05*Trim). This means that you can carefully adjust the pitch using the Trim slider, incredibly useful for keeping the plane level at any speed. I also set all control surfaces to AG8 so you can "freeze" them while you control the missiles instead and a gyroscope that activates when AG8 is turned off. Does that help?
I'm almost certain you could just rotate your build and then use the mirror tool we already have.

+1Yes!
Not nearly enough racing planes on here and this one looks awesome!

@ChisP The Darkness does as he pleases
@Blyatsickle jawohl
+1@ItBurger Sometimes
Nice tank buster
@LastManStanding THATS A GREAT ANSWER! More pilots became aces in the F6F than any other plane flown by any country in history. Ever.
Keep in mind you are not the only person who has ideas for the game and that they're busy people.

@Mattangi2 NEVER! I merely invoked the sanctified name so that all would recognize.
@Blyatsickle Alright good luck
How funny would it be if you posted this thing and she got bumped off the front page by some mook with pepe meme?
+3This from the guy who disrespected my beloved JN4 Jenny!

Inb4 next build 1:1 replica of NZ
+1DOUBLE WASP!
@AlcatelK2 Thanks! I spent a lot of time adjusting the speed and turn rate. Originally they were much faster, but it was less fun.
@QingyuZhou The ultimate gas guzzler
The lines of that halftrack make it look so futuristic. What an awesome looking machine
+1@DanDaFreakinMan Hey, I never noticed that. Nice catch!
@Omel I just mean they exist, that's all
+2@qwerty132 The joke builds are fine. I don't like that they take up precious slots on the front page, but otherwise a good laugh can be just as important as the player guided cruise missile system that I spent weeks developing and testing for my latest aircraft.

+2@Omel If you look through the posts of any platinum shipbuilder, you're certainly going to find a variety of cargo ships tankers.
+4@TrislandianAlliance No problem, I just like spitting out information on those two. They're both amazing designs with amazing histories.
@Blyatsickle Any other questions?
@asteroidbook345 I stand corrected, not the N9 but the N-1
@asteroidbook345 I really love the P-61, but his wings are also quite good. I saw the little yellow one in person, up close. The N-9, it's beautiful.
@asteroidbook345 Its ok, Jack Northrop had some great designs!
Ooh, one of my favorite pilots died in that thing!

+2@asteroidbook345 Another big win for Tupolev

+4@SledDriver It's nice to be back
Very interesting design, even by your standards
A beautiful recreation of a beautiful plane
+1PC users have access to a mod (in the mods section of this website) that allows them to upload builds using the last 3 in game screenshots.

+1@Blyatsickle Well, let's break it down and figure out one pat at a time. What's the most confusing part for you?
+2@CRJ900Pilot Thanks, also, you're right,
