Hi builders, been MIA for the past week getting ready for the flight Sims, but I've been seeing some impressive machines. Good stuff, I'm going German on this one to mix things up a little. On the 30th I'll be putting out details about the next event. It'll be a community versus event. I'm coming up with the rules since it'll be something kind of new, but expect a forum post around then.
@MrShenanigansSP for this event 2, we'll have other events in the future, so you have a cool design idea, just let me know and I'll see if I can create an event for it.
Love the small details like the radio station. What's the most impressive part to this build is you've manage to make and entirely new class of vehicles. As a small side note, it manage to pass the rally car test and can handle a jump, so it's good in my book.
@realSavageMan I'm sorry, I want to say yes, you can upload it as is. It doesn't break my rules, but a little bit of the SP community rules, (re-uploading the same design). However, if you were to add a cool paint job, or possibly turn it into an off road version, like a manufacturers racing truck, then it'd be considered "Livery", which is completely good for a car show, since that's usually what real life cars are in car shows are, and its also okay by the SP community rules.

This thing is a supercar with a dash of hotrod, probably the paintjob is what does it for me. What I find most impressive is you've managed a 50/50 balance, rear wheel drive, rear mounted engine, that is super stable at high and low speeds. I also noticed you didn't have to rely on any tricks with the overload tool, so the engineering aspect is top-notch. Things like the dynamic airbrake show that you really thought this thing out. Handles great, and definitely isn't slow. Overall, a really solid all around car, plus it passed my jump test so I'm happy with it.
@MintLynx Definitely, you have the best JDM builds in the community. I was wondering if you could select a best in show, and best in class. I was thinking classes would be things like sedans, trucks, and coupes. For best in show, basically that's going to the most impressive build overall. I don't want to base it on upvotes since sometimes followers can sometimes skew things, and I want to keep this event fun. Also thank you for replying to my post.
Livery isn't bad, you made some use of great colors. I'm getting a red and black camouflage vibe off this build which is nice touch. A cool idea for future projects, you could probably do a two tone, red on top, black on the bottom, like an old classic hot rod, but this is good too.
While this is a friendly virtual car show, I think it'd be good have some kind of judging, @MintLynx would you like to officiate this event? You're probably one of the more Veteran car builders in the community.
@RankStarfish201 I've seen this one, it's pretty cool. The 302 on the SN95 Mustang is very similar. Single Cam push rod engine, but fuel injection instead.
@DaPandaBoi69420 thanks, I'm coming out with a much smaller count version in the future though. Especially since Frontier starting to pull back slot from Elite is not a good sign.
@RankStarfish201 I was thinking about building a SN95 Mustang with a Y Block 302, but I'm having a Ford VS Chevy team challenge down the line, so I'm saving that for later. Don't want to draw those battle lines just yet.
@RankStarfish201 Yes you definitely can, in the future, I'll have more competitive events. This event is more so everyone gets a feel for the how these events work.
@TheDesignate We can possibly have a virtual car meet too if we get a decent turn out, and you can submit a car you've already built too, or make a new one.

@SyntheticL No worries,"open' means this event will have no restrictions. I was thinking of having builds organized by classes based on part counts for a "Best in Class", but the main goal of this challenge is to bring the community together, inspire newer builders, and celebrate automotive culture. There may be a multiplayer part to it.
Yup, the 1701A and B models have been done too many times. For good reason, the constitution class is the most iconic ship of the Star Trek series, and the ones we got are really good, but I want to mix it up a bit. Making it to scale is whole different challenge since the Fox version is much larger. I did a small scale test with my Krait model not too long ago. I haven't set a parts budget yet, but I'm making it a goal to keep builds going forward under 400 parts. Probably impossible, but that's why I consider Simple Planes a genre I like to call "strategy building game".
Cool, then I'll probably put the post out today, and have it run into mid April so it doesn't over lap with @Mage2isTriggered GT Challenge. I still working on a race car right now anyways, but we'll have ourselves a virtual car meet. Thank you all for the input.
@V As far as the racing aspect this first even is probably going to be more of a car meet. If it gets a good turnout, then we can probably do more racing events. For that it'll be FIA rules, horsepower, weight, and drag point restriction. I like the idea though, and once I get some input on this forum, I'll probably have an official challenge out in a few days. Once it gets going, all I can say is invite your friends, it'll be race day.
@PapaKernels Mobile is definitely invited and encouraged. As far as multiplayer, still working on that part. This is going to be a completely open event so everyone can participate. If this event works out, then who knows, maybe virtual car meets.

@druidstalk Hopefully in a good way, and I hope you're enjoying the model. It's pretty condensed, but if you need a lighter version for your device I have an even more compact version.
@Mage2IsTriggered Then that'd turn Simple Planes into a racing sim, but why would @andrewgarrison want to do that? That'd be like, an entirely new genre of SP VR the community could enjoy. (hoping Andrew is see's this)
@WolfHunter9111 Pretty much, but I made it easy to turn it into the Strassenversion race car if someone really wanted to though. I already got a race car in the works, this was more of a fun side project.
Sorry @Mage2IsTriggered, I was going to enter this thing into your challenge, but technically it's not really a road car converted to be a race car. I have a different car in the works for that.

Like what you did with the rims, and the gauges are a nice touch. Overall, good livery.

@Titaninferna Cool, there's a lot you can do with FIAT too, you can even got the rally car route, or make it a street racer.

Also the "FSA" is a spoof on the FIA, there is no governing racing association in Simple Planes that I am aware of.
