according to wikipedia project 1143 does exist in soviet and they build not 4 full fledged carriers but heavy cruisers carrying vtol yak-38. these ship operated to 1996 and one was scappped, 2 were show for china for display and the ony one that still operate is the heavily modified admiral gorshkov which was ins vikramaditya
