@WhiteRabbit yes, there are only couple small islands in SP, but at least there are runways'n'stuff on them. In SR2, you will take off, and what... That is why I proposed for SP to have only one small and detailed planet with many airfields, forests, mountains, etc.
SR2 is far from being SP2. It will be more focused on the space aspect of it, there will be no interesting environment to explore by a plane, and parts such as prop engines will be missing
@PhantomBladeCorp so... In 1945 they were able to build it in a few years, and we in 2018 with futuristic technologies, drones, space travel and the internet will work on it for several decades :D
What I often do if I can't precisely locate and fix the issue, is just disabling collisions of every single part.
I just open the XML file of the aircraft, and add the collision attribute using Search and Replace (Ctrl+H)
@RodWan Well, to be fair, more allocated memory could help with airplane loading when the game goes back into focus, sometimes it has me waiting for a minute before it starts to respond, but that may be a Linux issue
@Static hopefully before this month ends, I did some tests but then my main PC died (for, like, the twentieth time this year), so I'm again stuck with a laptop that can't really handle it :/
@LiamW Yes, some glider also have forward swept wings, but not as excessive as the Ju-287, the Su-47 was cancelled, the X-28 as well (but it did develop some neat stabilization systems tho), and Spectre and Vantage have much less sweep. It must've been really difficult making the plane stable all the way back in 1940s
@XjayIndustrys yup, one L-610 is parked at Kbely I think. One is on a pedestal in Brno and one may be parked at the Kunovice airport where Let manufactured it, but I am not exactly sure about the last one
@RodWan I don't think memory is the issue. And IIRC someone from Jundroo already said that real multi-core is beyond them as Unity doesn't support it. I might be wrong on that one, though
I love that you asked here.
Make a plane out of it.
Ya know, the usual stuff, somewhere on youtube somebody used a leafblower (or a hairdryer?) engine to power a plane, at it was pretty dank. And the 25CC is pretty powerful
@FastDan I just noticed that. Those "shaker" gliders stop working under slow-motion. Literally all the game needs is sped up physics and AI calculations and boom 1.8 done :D
@DPSAircraftManufacturer yeah, but before I start I want to add thrust vectoring to the main engine, I already had a somewhat functional prototype before this plane used my engine, so I may refurbish that. It will give the plane increased maneuverability on the pitch, and potentially the yaw axis
@DPSAircraftManufacturer ye we could do a project together, @wzr1 could design the airframe, you could take care of the engines, and I could some final tweaks and maybe some XML magic that I was practicing lately
@Spacedoge12345plane in that case, none exist. NASA is working on one, called QueSST or something like that, and Boom Tehcnologies are also developing their to be used as an airliner
It is impossible to go supersonic without a boom. Although it is possible to streamline the boom so it will dissipate faster and won't be as loud.
A DC-8 once went supersonic, you can only imagine the sonic boom that would create
@RamboJutter well... the fan blades are from the default blasto engine, except I scaled it so it is squished, and the entire thrust reverser is just one additional fuselage and one piston. I was thinking about making everything custom, including the blades, but in my opinion that's not worth the trouble and nudging hell when I could do this :D
@asteroidbook345 When I was working on this, I thought I'm already making a huge engine, but compared to the monster like the GE9X, it's still lagging behind, so an SD-2000 maybe? :D
Good... Good...

@Chancey21 Or they could just make SP2 similar to SR2, but with only one, detailed planet
SR2 is far from being SP2. It will be more focused on the space aspect of it, there will be no interesting environment to explore by a plane, and parts such as prop engines will be missing
+3What is 554
@PhantomBladeCorp so... In 1945 they were able to build it in a few years, and we in 2018 with futuristic technologies, drones, space travel and the internet will work on it for several decades :D
Luckily for us, there is no way for modders to create custom AI
What I often do if I can't precisely locate and fix the issue, is just disabling collisions of every single part.
+2I just open the XML file of the aircraft, and add the collision attribute using Search and Replace (Ctrl+H)
@Chancey21 oh no I'm going to lose all of my 1 customers
+2@Feanor o thank you
@Botfinder but it has cool wings tho
Are you from the glorious Czech Republic?
@ForeverPie but it would ruin my joke as well, shhh...
@QingyuZhou to be fair, I'm just surprised it wasn't already taken
@RodWan Well, to be fair, more allocated memory could help with airplane loading when the game goes back into focus, sometimes it has me waiting for a minute before it starts to respond, but that may be a Linux issue

@EternalDarkness oh I missed that article, thanks
@XjayIndustrys yup, one L-610 is parked at Kbely I think. One is on a pedestal in Brno and one may be parked at the Kunovice airport where Let manufactured it, but I am not exactly sure about the last one
@EternalDarkness yes, I don't expect many people to actually absorb this at once, and I understand why :D
+1@FastDan ohgod how is the cooldown not stopping you :O
@FastDan I see you've entered maximum overdrive mode. Thanks for that, I might hit the 25K sooner than I imagined!
+1@RodWan K I took the dot out, here it is -> .
+2@ThePrototype Ah, I didn't know that. But AFAIK the glider was downscaled, so they couldn't even install the engine in, could they?
@RodWan I don't think memory is the issue. And IIRC someone from Jundroo already said that real multi-core is beyond them as Unity doesn't support it. I might be wrong on that one, though
@EternalDarkness
and
@CSP27
Thanks for subscribing I guess
@Remote a bit off topic, but sounds useful
I love that you asked here.
+2Make a plane out of it.
Ya know, the usual stuff, somewhere on youtube somebody used a leafblower (or a hairdryer?) engine to power a plane, at it was pretty dank. And the 25CC is pretty powerful
damn, just make sure you change your password if you use the same one somewhere else
+7@Chancey21 or maybe a new physics option - "Very High", that would increase the tick speed an decrease simulation speed.
+2@Minecraftpoweer ye, too bad I can't use mods lol
@Baldovino kul
@FastDan I just noticed that. Those "shaker" gliders stop working under slow-motion. Literally all the game needs is sped up physics and AI calculations and boom 1.8 done :D
+4btw, I smell a lot of controversy regarding shakers, so, ya know, I'll rather use something different and hope to beat at least one unfortunate fellow
@Tully2001 is it allowed to disable collisions?
@DPSAircraftManufacturer actually, I got it down to 0:50, I'll tag you
Where we're going we don't need roads!
+2@wzr1 @DPSAircraftManufacturer with thrust vectoring it finished in 0:53
@DPSAircraftManufacturer yeah, but before I start I want to add thrust vectoring to the main engine, I already had a somewhat functional prototype before this plane used my engine, so I may refurbish that. It will give the plane increased maneuverability on the pitch, and potentially the yaw axis

+1@wzr1 also, do you intend to use this in a tournament? If so, you will have to get rid of all XML-modified parts
@wzr1 I might make a variant of the ramjet with thrust vectoring. I will use this airplane to test how it fits, and will report to you when I'm done!
nvm I just looked it up, neat-o
what is the grey plane in the last picture?
I swear I've seen this somewhere...
+6@GritAerospaceSolutionsLTD how do you think I got it...
+1It is impossible to go supersonic without a boom. Although it is possible to streamline the boom so it will dissipate faster and won't be as loud.
