    This is beyond words!

Anyways, here are a few words:
This is pure insanity. You can be more than proud of this. I can't even imagine how you pulled it off to make it efficient enough to even be playable!

@XEP,I strongly disagree. For me, designing these crafts is about conveying a special feeling or just creating something I've thought about. The "realistic" aspect is more of a template, like when you add a bunch of pipes to your fictional steampunk creation. Of course, these pipes don't serve a real purpose, but the idea is that people accept that they do (which is easy because most of the time you also don't know what things are meant to do in imaginary worlds). This plane, in particular, is meant to convey the peculiar atmosphere of WW1 planes. They had the most beautiful paint jobs, yet they where designed to kill. For me, there's this tension between the freedom of flight and mans misuse of it. To convey something like that, I don't need to calculate wing area or anything like that. Realism is different from atmosphere. A concrete example of this would be Warhammer. Feel free to point out mistakes; I'd like to see where this conversation goes.

@XEP, I don't know if the prop is too small, it might be. The layout is purely fictional; this build prioritizes looks over anything else. Also, I don't see a reason to connect the engine with the guns as they are not meant to be synchronized. Yes, weight would probably be an issue, the wings are a bit far behind the engine. There is also a land version without the funky prop placement if you'd prefer that: here you go

    The Blue version is fixed

  • Bartgeier_ [96 Parts Challenge] 7 months ago

@AuroraPlanes, Oh, sorry, I forgot to remove that on the blue one, I made it so the engine only activates after the airspeed is greater than some value. To fix that, go into the XML settings of the prop, then to input control, and change the activation group from 'IAS>10' to '0'. Alternatively, you can fly one of the other two (sorry I forgot to take that out).

@AshdenpawTG22, kind of,After years of lighter-than-air vehicle research, it turned out that the house from the film "Up" actually is a highly efficient design for a war airship. Of course, this inspired some conspiracy theories involving time travel and other main plot points from the Terminator films, but Pixar officially denied any rumors.
