Any tips for replicas using the designer like did you do a rib structure first and what’s your process for making the wings I’m trying to do a ju 88 rn
On the spring though what will have to happen is that you have a small spring and a piston and the spring is in contact with the bullets and then an activation group to extend the piston increasing the pressure but the mag might have to be half full cause there will have to be room for the spring
So I tested something and with the piston in the fire system you can set that to fire guns and the piston will do a better job at actually sliding the bolt back setting an amount would be the hardest part. This then fixed the issue of the bolt not sliding back all the way so if I’m able to recreate a spring with a piston and shock we would be able to push the bullets up faster creating a faster rate of fire as well. But instead of the piston I could also try to increase the impact force so that it’ll slide the slide back further but also increase that tension so it comes back faster. I think that solution works better though cause then you can still have that piston and it keeps a realistic chamber.
You could also make flat laying casings as well and you can turn off aircraft collisions so the casing don’t fly with the bullet and have something that ejects it as well so you have basically a working gun@SpiritusRaptor
SR I took off the “ weight” attached to the winches and found that you don’t need it. It actually runs much more smoothly without it and has less jams/misfires and the bullets fall into the chamber more naturally.Hopefully, you can use this to create other popular top fed guns such as the Bren gun or the boys AT rifle both used during ww2. Another suggestion for any bottom fed /curved mags is to create a string of springs connected to floppy rotators creating a spring like effect.
Hey I’ve been liking recent posts and the opportunity for new engineering applications I would like to help you on future engineering projects and possible testing. I have some suggestions for your bottom fed Thompson and some new ideas it would be great too work with you if you would have me.
Thanks,
-Chris P.
@SpiritusRaptor
Saw this comment from earlier and just wanted to let you know that you can switch the gears and put the small one on the main shaft and the large one on the secondary shaft to produce more torque@bjac0
The attachments makes the computer crash a lot and I can’t alter position of the picture I insert. You might want to do a rework and address the issues if there are no fixes for them simplicity would be my focus. Do love the idea however. Also have a issue with scaling the blueprints and making them the right size for the aircraft.
belugasub I admire your planes greatly and it been interesting to see your breakout in this last year. It seems you building tech has gotten better in the past year and I would like to know some tips that got you going and how you applied those. I would also like to work with you maybe on an upcoming project if you would be interested at all.
Thanks,
Chris
If you want to make it faster change the gear ratio so make your first gear in the tradition from the main axel to the wheel axle bigger and make the second one smaller but if you want to make it accelerate you would have to make a custom transmission
Those do look better but please don’t call them cheap I worked really hard on this plane and I don’t think that’s very kind or that this plane deserves that kind of criticism @EternalDarkness
Yesh Yesh Yesh Yesh Yesh
disclamer- plane does start with engines on fire
+18Cotana turn on Cortana please dies
+1You should decrease the size of the rockets and increase size of explosion so it almost just shows up but it’s really cool good job 👍🏻
+1sorry already chose the ju-88 but im gonna upload progress pictures later @NicePlanes
Thanks man@belugasub

Okay I also suck at wing and cockpit building so do you have any tips on those as well or is it just practice and patience
For your Bf110 replica did you use the new designer mod and if so what’s your process for creating super accurate replicas
But is the free cam really on?
this is cool you could put this in an aircraft as a feature!
awesome i see what you did with the proximity on the missiles awesome!
How does stealth mode work
Did you use orthographic view and if so can someone tell me how to use it for duccs sake
But if you want to send me the prototype drum mag then I might be able to make something more suited for that
On the spring though what will have to happen is that you have a small spring and a piston and the spring is in contact with the bullets and then an activation group to extend the piston increasing the pressure but the mag might have to be half full cause there will have to be room for the spring

For that ejector you could use a piston or you could try to have the incoming bullet push it out although idk what you would use for an ejector
You could also make flat laying casings as well and you can turn off aircraft collisions so the casing don’t fly with the bullet and have something that ejects it as well so you have basically a working gun@SpiritusRaptor
I can see but I’ll have to get home and on the computer might take a couple days I’ll use your mag on the Thompson as a base@SpiritusRaptor

Need tech support
Yeah I need some help with this mod it don’t make sense lol
Updooted lol

Can you make a description in English please that would be very helpful to most people on the site
That different color exhaust is gonna drive me insane I’m so OCD lol😂
Yeah I’ll probably end up scaling it later @X4JB
Lol can fly
Really good but I feel it needs some more details like insignias decals and stuff to make it more realistic
+1If you want to make it faster change the gear ratio so make your first gear in the tradition from the main axel to the wheel axle bigger and make the second one smaller but if you want to make it accelerate you would have to make a custom transmission
+1Nvm it’s not but still awesome
+1Isn’t this the new helicopter in bf V ?
+1Really cool bro nice
Please don’t use such language on the site please you should really read the rules https://www.simpleplanes.com/About/Rules @slayeralpha
Deserves a description
+1Exactly April fools@Nickk
+1Oh@ThomasRoderick
I think that’s on your own computer@ThomasRoderick
And I do think this plane deserves more upvotes and recognition since the build quality and attention to detail is pretty high
Those do look better but please don’t call them cheap I worked really hard on this plane and I don’t think that’s very kind or that this plane deserves that kind of criticism @EternalDarkness
Sorry I want to fix it if it doesn’t look perfect I’m a perfectionist lol
And wdym cheap trailing edges
:( it looks better than the last one though right?@EternalDarkness
