@TheAviator77
Yeah, now looking at the picture again, there's no ejection seats. Definitely a mock up (or what I commonly see at museums since the sometimes the Tomcats had the cockpits removed after exiting service).
Soooo...
Sorry, but I have to nitpick this. It's what I always do to Tomcats on this website.
First:
The wings; what everyone gets wrong with the Tomcat (that or calling the RIO a WSO, luckily, that wasn't an issue). The wings should sweep at a higher speed, and not in a three position way. The wings gradually sweep depending on speed, altitude, and G. I also noticed some glitches with connections where the inboard portion of the slats on the port wing was connected to the spoilers. The spoilers also moved together when rolling one way (my guess is something happened while mirroring the aircraft). The slats are manually deployed with the flaps and tilt down, not just slide forward. The HUD is from a D, not a B I think. You can't really see the HUD in the A and B. Second:
More on the spoilers and airbrakes. The top portion of the airbrake/speedbrake is absent. The spoilers do not deploy with the airbrakes, they are separate.
Other than that great build!
I'm glad you made the wings automatic, that's a huge thing people often miss.
And for Pete's sake... Pete is Mavericks first name hehe
Just me being me whenever I see someone make an afterburner;
In most aircraft, the afterburner detent is at about 80% throttle. I don't really care for having an action group for it, but I'll let it slide.
And for rEaLIsm, the F-16's flaps are controlled automatically. They go down with the gear.
@SeagullOnWood
I under stand funky trees, but I have no clue what the heck is happening in this script.
If you don’t mind me asking, a version of this with with a G-LOC and redout veritable for disabling controls.
I would do it myself, but I’m too dumb.
:)
If the climbing and descend speed is supposed to be V^Y, then it should be 75MPH not knots.
It would be about 73.8kts (or 74 if you round up).
Not a huge deal. Just something I noticed.
I new the V^Y was 74kts, I just wasn’t sure if it was for the C152 or C172. Google says that’s the C172’s V^Y.
Sorry for the tangential comment lol
Just searched it up, I never thought a F-5 could carry AGM-65s, but they can. However, if this is from a similar time to the movie, they would not, it was only after 1995.
Sorry for being such a critic, I do think this is a cool build!
I have flown this multiple times. It’s one of my favorite GA aircraft. As a… *ahem* vertically challenged person, I like the small and compact nature of this plane. I think it’s cozy :)

@ToeTips
It does feel really underpowered, butI don’t want to go over 200hp. It accelerates in a dive really quickly, but I think that’s because I reduced a bunch of drafts make it feel a less underpowered (didn’t do too much), I did code some stuff to make the rear gun only fire when you are in the turrets and you aren’t pointing at the vertical stabilizer. Now thinking about it I could make it so the main guns won’t fire when using the turret.
The last sentence in the second paragraph is a major run on, and AIM (as in AIM-9 Sidewinder) is spelled (or capitalized I guess?) AIM a or AiM. Sorry, I’ve just had grammar hammered into my skull.

@GuardianAerospace
+1Yup. I was in private, and then homeschool, but I could tell public was... less than great.
@GuardianAerospace
Just read your profile, you know why I'm upvoting this plane
@GuardianAerospace
I always forget to paint them!
This looks SICK!
Oh no, not the white landing gear syndrome! Glad to see I'm not the only one that has it.
+1I'll have to test this out later, then I'll give my input
+1@GuardianAerospace @Mousewithamachinegun123
+2I'm not out, spotlight time!
Never mind, it's out!

Looks sweet!
@Eggplant
+1That's why I fly the Tomcat ;)
And don't take that comment as an insult, just pitching in my two cents.

+1The wings should only fold about 90 degrees.
Sorry for being that guy.
Hmm, interesting design. I haven't seen a gyrocopter/autogyro with a pull prop configuration.
@KornAerospace
650 parts.
I just uploaded an aircraft yesterday (3 hours after this), would it be possible to use it in this challenge?
I might still work on it further.
Is this what the F-104 pilots saw when they looked at their plane?
+3Eh, close enough
Speaking of which, does anyone here with VR mind being a test pilot for my plane?
Hope I make it in time, but I've got a great build brewing!
Yes? Is this the 'merican government? Yes, I found some oil you might wanna dri-
MURICA
150 UPVOTES GUYS!!! DO IT!!!

The interior’s a bit scuffed, but the rest of the plane looks great!

+1MiG-28, not MIG 28. Yes, I’m like that.
Oh no, he’s cracked the code… this is how they designed the A-10…
@Mousewithamachinegun123
You don’t happen to know anyone with SimplePlanes VR who could help me do you?
@Mousewithamachinegun123
Oh yeah, violin sounds… less than great when starting out. I’m sure it’s really discouraging.
@Mousewithamachinegun123
Practice...
And I realized I underestimated my skills.
@Maverick09
If DCS is anything to go by, afterburner should be around 80% throttle, not 95%.

Too many…
Uh… at least five. Then again pretty much all of my builds aren’t really ever done, just like art.

That’s what I like to call it.
