@PlanesOfOld I don't want to seem like I'm trying to points monger.

  • Supermarine S6B 1930 10.1 years ago

@PlanesOfOld lol well I'd like to wait until my SSTOL challenge has closed before I host another one. So it'll have to wait until next Friday.

  • Supermarine S6B 1930 10.1 years ago

@PlanesOfOld I'd be up for it, yeah.

  • Supermarine S6B 1930 10.1 years ago

Interesting idea. We should do it by random lottery. Come up with a list of planes, put them into a hat, and draw one for every person who agrees to enter.

  • sstol entry 10.1 years ago

@picy Nope, still breaks on low settings.

  • NASA QSRA 10.1 years ago

    @Dynimerous That's awesome! I'm super jealous!

  • Macchi M.C.72 10.1 years ago

@PlanesOfOld That's up to you dude. Would be interesting to see your version of this iconic racing plane.

  • Supermarine S6B 1930 10.1 years ago

@PlanesOfOld That would be cool, but I've already made a racing seaplane... unless you plan to limit the contest to planes that actually competed :P

  • Supermarine S6B 1930 10.1 years ago

@PlanesOfOld awesome! BTW, this seems to have some stability issues for me, especially when performing rolls. Might want to look into that.

  • Supermarine S6B 1930 10.1 years ago

RAWR! YOU BEAT ME TO IT YOU UNBELIEVABLY CREATIVE BASTARD! No seriously, awesome job!

  • someone fix it please 10.1 years ago

Fixed it for you bud. Have fun!

  • sstol entry 10.1 years ago

Every time I load it into the game, the lower wings break off D:

  • Mcdonnell dougolas F4 Phantom II 10.1 years ago

    Really cool man!

  • NASA QSRA 10.1 years ago

@Cedy117 Well, rip the engines off of this one and tack them to yours :P

  • NASA QSRA 10.1 years ago

@Rambo1050 Oh, good catch. Typo on my part. I'll fix it.

  • NASA QSRA 10.1 years ago

@JMicah4 Thank you! :D I added some flight instructions if you'd like to give them a read.

  • SSTOL Challenge 10.1 years ago

@JacobHardy64 lol yeah. You should search Super STOL on youtube. There are some neat videos of SSTOL aircraft taking off in less than 10 feet in some cases.

  • SSTOL Challenge 10.1 years ago

Interesting design. Remarkably similar to @Vikdesigns entry, but it's different enough I'm allowing it, for now. Performance-wise it's not bad at all, definitely a competitor.

  • SSTOL Challenge 10.1 years ago

@picy Super Short Take-Off and Landing

  • Soviet Akula Class Attack Submarine 10.1 years ago

Pretty cool! I'm kind of sad it doesn't submerge, but it still looks damn sharp.

  • SSTOL Challenge (CLOSED) 10.1 years ago

    @Vikdesigns Sure

  • SSTOL Challenge (CLOSED) 10.2 years ago

@Thebrendon55c Those planes are VTOLs and therefore don't qualify. This contest is for a fixed-wing, forward-propulsion SSTOL. The mechanical requirements are in the rules above. You're more than welcome to enter a plane you've already made as long as it meets the challenge requirements.

  • Vought F-8 Crusader 10.2 years ago

@Cedy117 lol, thanks. I had to change a couple of things, so I deleted the first upload :P

  • SSTOL Challenge 10.2 years ago

A good contender. Take-off is fairly short, and stops pretty quickly. The only really drawback is maneuverability, as it's a bit sluggish in the roll and yaw axis.

  • SSTOL Challenge (CLOSED) 10.2 years ago

@KingDeadshot Make sure you upload it as a successor.

  • SSTOL 10.2 years ago

Upload this as a successor to the challenge please.

  • SSTOL Challenge 10.2 years ago

While your use of jettisoning the wheels to catapult the plane off the ground is inventive, because this plane uses a modded engine, it doesn't qualify for the contest. Upload a version with a stock engine and you'll be golden.

  • SSTOL Challenge entry 10.2 years ago

Aside from the wings being a little brittle, this is a decent entry to the contest.

  • SSTOL Challenge 10.2 years ago

This plane uses a modded prop engine, so I'm afraid it doesn't qualify. If you upload a version with a stock engine it'll be okay.

  • SSTOL Rayven 10.2 years ago

Decent entry, but it's run-up is a bit long for it to be competitive. Good in-flight handling, though.

  • SSTOL Challenge 10.2 years ago

Aside from the tendency to knock the tail off on take-off, this plane isn't bad. I got around that pretty quick just by being a little less aggressive with the pitch control. Stopping is a little tricky, but I got it to stop in 3 lines. Overall a nice entry.

  • SSTOL Challenge HAWK 1 10.2 years ago

Great entry! This things Run-up and stop are both very short. A very strong contender here.

  • my main entry for sstol contest 10.2 years ago

It would help if you'd post this as a successor to the contest. If I hadn't happened to be idly browsing I'd have never found it.

  • SSTOL Challenge (CLOSED) 10.2 years ago

@Hypnoticchicken Nope. I already wrote that into the rules.

  • SSTOL Challenge (CLOSED) 10.2 years ago

@StealthBomber You can, but remember it has to land too.

  • USS Virginia 10.2 years ago

This is actually one of the best looking subs yet! Great job!

  • Clermont 10.2 years ago

    Great design!

  • Free Wing Float 10.2 years ago

@PlanesOfOld Those are really simple floats. I can make them for you fairly easily, but I need to know the scale of your plane first.

  • "Dream Chaser"Space shuttle 10.2 years ago

    Awesome recreation!

  • Special Delivery Challenge 10.2 years ago

@JoeAdkinson13 I agree. It was a good challenge that yielded some really interesting results. Now to decide what my next challenge will be!

  • Special Delivery Challenge 10.2 years ago

@JoeAdkinson13 You've claimed first place! Please specify which 5 planes you'd like me to rate. @Ocora You've claimed second place! Please specify three planes for me to rate! @Nachoman You've claimed third place! Please specify which plane you'd like me to rate. Congratulations to all who placed in this competition!

  • Batmobile 10.2 years ago

    Very cool

  • Colonial Viper Mk. II 10.2 years ago

Very nicely done. Performs extremely well. This was on my list of things to build, but I think I'll go ahead and scratch it off the list now :P

  • Saturn V 10.2 years ago

Awesome build. I can barely run it even on my pc, but a lot of effort went into this and it shows. Very well done.

  • Special Delivery Challenge 10.2 years ago

Looks good, but I can't for the life of me get it to load the ball without ripping itself apart.

  • Special Delivery Challenge- The flying Corral! 10.2 years ago

Probably the easiest of the bunch to land. Very nicely done.

  • H-4 Hercules (from Howard Hughes) 10.2 years ago

    @Vikdesigns No worries :)

  • H-4 Hercules (from Howard Hughes) 10.2 years ago

@Vikdesigns he asked me for permission to use it and the details clearly show that it's a successor. Relax.

  • Kaaraabiner's Me-262 10.2 years ago

This looks really good and deserves five stars for design, but I really wish you hadn't used modded engines.

  • TNT of Minecraft 10.2 years ago

    Great job!
