Interesting idea. We should do it by random lottery. Come up with a list of planes, put them into a hat, and draw one for every person who agrees to enter.
@JacobHardy64 lol yeah. You should search Super STOL on youtube. There are some neat videos of SSTOL aircraft taking off in less than 10 feet in some cases.
Interesting design. Remarkably similar to @Vikdesigns entry, but it's different enough I'm allowing it, for now. Performance-wise it's not bad at all, definitely a competitor.
@Thebrendon55c Those planes are VTOLs and therefore don't qualify. This contest is for a fixed-wing, forward-propulsion SSTOL. The mechanical requirements are in the rules above. You're more than welcome to enter a plane you've already made as long as it meets the challenge requirements.
A good contender. Take-off is fairly short, and stops pretty quickly. The only really drawback is maneuverability, as it's a bit sluggish in the roll and yaw axis.
While your use of jettisoning the wheels to catapult the plane off the ground is inventive, because this plane uses a modded engine, it doesn't qualify for the contest. Upload a version with a stock engine and you'll be golden.
Aside from the tendency to knock the tail off on take-off, this plane isn't bad. I got around that pretty quick just by being a little less aggressive with the pitch control. Stopping is a little tricky, but I got it to stop in 3 lines. Overall a nice entry.
@JoeAdkinson13 You've claimed first place! Please specify which 5 planes you'd like me to rate.
@Ocora You've claimed second place! Please specify three planes for me to rate!
@Nachoman You've claimed third place! Please specify which plane you'd like me to rate.
Congratulations to all who placed in this competition!
@PlanesOfOld I don't want to seem like I'm trying to points monger.
@PlanesOfOld lol well I'd like to wait until my SSTOL challenge has closed before I host another one. So it'll have to wait until next Friday.
@PlanesOfOld I'd be up for it, yeah.
Interesting idea. We should do it by random lottery. Come up with a list of planes, put them into a hat, and draw one for every person who agrees to enter.
@picy Nope, still breaks on low settings.
@Dynimerous That's awesome! I'm super jealous!
@PlanesOfOld That's up to you dude. Would be interesting to see your version of this iconic racing plane.
@PlanesOfOld That would be cool, but I've already made a racing seaplane... unless you plan to limit the contest to planes that actually competed :P
@PlanesOfOld awesome! BTW, this seems to have some stability issues for me, especially when performing rolls. Might want to look into that.
RAWR! YOU BEAT ME TO IT YOU UNBELIEVABLY CREATIVE BASTARD! No seriously, awesome job!
Fixed it for you bud. Have fun!
Every time I load it into the game, the lower wings break off D:
Really cool man!
@Cedy117 Well, rip the engines off of this one and tack them to yours :P
@Rambo1050 Oh, good catch. Typo on my part. I'll fix it.
@JMicah4 Thank you! :D I added some flight instructions if you'd like to give them a read.

@picy Super Short Take-Off and Landing
Pretty cool! I'm kind of sad it doesn't submerge, but it still looks damn sharp.
@Vikdesigns Sure

@Cedy117 lol, thanks. I had to change a couple of things, so I deleted the first upload :P
A good contender. Take-off is fairly short, and stops pretty quickly. The only really drawback is maneuverability, as it's a bit sluggish in the roll and yaw axis.
@KingDeadshot Make sure you upload it as a successor.
Upload this as a successor to the challenge please.
While your use of jettisoning the wheels to catapult the plane off the ground is inventive, because this plane uses a modded engine, it doesn't qualify for the contest. Upload a version with a stock engine and you'll be golden.
Aside from the wings being a little brittle, this is a decent entry to the contest.
This plane uses a modded prop engine, so I'm afraid it doesn't qualify. If you upload a version with a stock engine it'll be okay.
Decent entry, but it's run-up is a bit long for it to be competitive. Good in-flight handling, though.

Great entry! This things Run-up and stop are both very short. A very strong contender here.
It would help if you'd post this as a successor to the contest. If I hadn't happened to be idly browsing I'd have never found it.
@Hypnoticchicken Nope. I already wrote that into the rules.
@StealthBomber You can, but remember it has to land too.
This is actually one of the best looking subs yet! Great job!
Great design!
@PlanesOfOld Those are really simple floats. I can make them for you fairly easily, but I need to know the scale of your plane first.
Awesome recreation!
@JoeAdkinson13 I agree. It was a good challenge that yielded some really interesting results. Now to decide what my next challenge will be!
@JoeAdkinson13 You've claimed first place! Please specify which 5 planes you'd like me to rate. @Ocora You've claimed second place! Very cool
Very nicely done. Performs extremely well. This was on my list of things to build, but I think I'll go ahead and scratch it off the list now :P
Awesome build. I can barely run it even on my pc, but a lot of effort went into this and it shows. Very well done.
Looks good, but I can't for the life of me get it to load the ball without ripping itself apart.
Probably the easiest of the bunch to land. Very nicely done.
@Vikdesigns No worries :)
@Vikdesigns he asked me for permission to use it and the details clearly show that it's a successor. Relax.
This looks really good and deserves five stars for design, but I really wish you hadn't used modded engines.
Great job!
