@HuskyDynamics01 @TheFlightGuySP would a modding tutorial from me be a video people would be interested in?
It wouldn't be anything too crazy, it would just go over the basics of making a map, map plugin, or part.
Celcius is a relative scale, so it's really difficult to say an accurate temperature that is "twice as cold." I like your method where you said "half as hot." Looking at it that way, it's easy to convert 8 degrees Celcius into Kelvin, divide that number by two, then convert it back into celcius to get...
-132.575 degrees
or -206.635 fahrenheit
Of course, if a friend says it's going to be twice as cold outside, they likely mean that it's going to be 4 degrees or something. That's not really how it scientifically works, but there is value in understanding what that means.
@Graingy you can figure it out because page number is in the url. You can change the url to go to say page 5000. If there’s planes there, you increase the number by another couple thousand. If there aren’t planes showing, you decrease the number by a few hundred.
I did the math a few months ago and there were like 700K airplanes on the site, I’d estimate that number’s grown quite a bit tho. As for automating the archival stuff f every plane on the site, maybe a Python script or something could download all of the files and maybe include the owner’s username in the file name. You might try asking on Stack Overflow or a similar coding forum for a script like this.
Instead of figuring out each plane’s id, you could go to the highest rated of all time page and have the script automatically go through every plane on the list.
@MrSilverWolf yeah wars and stuff happen, I do think it’s important to remember them but I will say that they’re always pretty dang messed up. The whole Palestine/Israel and Russia/Ukraine thing is an example that even when there’s pretty much a good side and a bad side, messed up stuff still happens and war is an ugly, ugly thing.
@MRM19 yeah it’s been one for a long time as far as I know
Idk why there’s only three airplanes under that tag though, I seem to remember it being a thing since I started playing
Anyway, upvotes on this site are weird, just make a unique plane with a cool custom thumbnail (maybe a teaser if you’re feeling really good about a particular build) and the updoots will come to you. Also, gain reputation on the site and you’ll get more followers and more people visiting your profile.
2, but the background could use a bit more blur or something to make the plane stand out more. It has by far the best angle and lighting. 1 stands out the best but the lighting is pretty bad, and 3 is just not a very good angle in my opinion. It is pretty visually interesting to look at though.
Are you interested in allowing me to turn this into a map plugin for those with access to computers? That would allow it to be on a separate island, and it would run better on people’s potato devices. I would obviously list you as a contributor, or let you post it from your account and have you add me as a contributor. I could do it before or after the airplane post is released to the public, whenever you want.
If it’s a JNO video, don’t post it on the SP site. I don’t see any reason you couldn’t post it over on the JNO site though. I’m not a moderator, but based on the content I’ve seen here and on JNO, you should be fine.
@Korzalerke2147483647 I do agree, I’m not the most knowledgeable about this type of thing so I’ll have to take your word for it. I assume your profession involves computers somehow? You seem like you know a lot about coding and technology.
@Korzalerke2147483647 exhales
Man, the devs really need to work on the site’s security. I mean, nothing you’ve done is malicious, but you’ve seen the veri*pro bots and stuff.
@Korzalerke2147483647 a forum post titled “Test” that redirected to the homepage. Was only there for a few seconds. You were the one that posted it, or so the forums claim.
Buddy, I feel bad to be the one to tell you this, but to be on the SimplePlanes website you have to be 13. It’s not their rule, it’s a law in a lot of countries (including the US, where the servers are based) that says that websites cannot allow kids under the age of 13 to create an account ☹️
2 things:
+11. What does the KY stand for?
2. That livery is really, really good.
3 legit ones I’m actually sort of meaning headway on, 6-7 random things I’ve barely made any progress on and will likely never touch again.
+1@WaterFlavouredSpitfires trying to hold on, you didn’t even know, I wasted it all just to watch you go
+1@WaterFlavouredSpitfires watch it count down to the end of the days just tick life away and it’s so unreal
+1@SomeSPGuyWhoLikesLore all I know, time is a valuable thing
+1@SomeSPGuyWhoLikesLore it doesn’t even matter how hard you try

@Graingy not sure I want to know how you thought of that.

Grainy on Windows confirmed???!!?!?!!??
+1@Graingy I’ll try and figure it out and send links to you next time I’m on my computer.

perfect forum post does not exist:
+1yeah, the service provider apparently had an issue. It's not Jundroo's fault.
+1It has been offline since Tuesday to my knowledge.

Holy carp are those sp screenshots?
+1Edit: nah that’s got to be Blender
To everyone who complimented my screenshots, thanks a ton, it really means a lot to hear that people like them.

+1@AshdenpawTG22 you got me 😳
+1Actually, I’m a little surprised Tears of the Kingdom didn’t win but oh well
@Graingy here take this dubiously legal online ROM that will get copyright-claimed by nintendo and dreamworks in the next 14 minutes

+1Maybe the games are that cheap there to discourage piracy.
+1Wait so for 6.50 you can have play pass for the rest of your life? Seems like a pretty good deal considering SP by itself is $7.
+1Upvoting your own account is technically against the rules. Not that I think that you are actually doing this for the points, just letting you know.

+1@ToeTips oh yeah that sounds more familiar
+1@SILVERPANZER oh very cool
+1@Randomplayer noooooo not the gaming chair
+1a very rich man with a phd in marketing is laughing his head off as we speak
I gotta stop upvoting and spotlighting you if I want to beat you to platinum...
+1It’s still Christmas Eve here in the US
+1@Korzalerke2147483647 cool! I wish I knew about network requests, but my programming knowledge is limited to a tiny amount of HTML.

+1Now my question is, how?
+1You know what you did.
+1@Graingy haha it took me like ten minutes to write it out that way, and I was questioning my life decisions the entire time.
+1@Graingy greɪn-dʒiː.
+1I am speed
