Here's my thoughts: You can never make a perfect plane. SimplePlanes will never allow you to get 100% accuracy on your builds. You can get like 95%, but that takes thousands of parts and still isn't quite perfect. With that in mind, I would rather see planes that are fun to fly or are useful. Helicopters that can lift things, A-10s with ridiculous amounts of ordinance, or cars that are completely fictional but drive like a dream. To be honest, the experience trumps realism for me. If it looks perfect, that's a bonus.
Points are just numbers on a website. You don't need them for anything other than credibility, which you can easily attain just by being nice, helping people out, and posting quality creations.
I have downloaded it and tried it out. It actually ran great on my pc, surprisingly. I wish it had internet access, but it still works great without it. I forgot how hard Minesweeper was lol.
@BeastHunter yeah that map is extremely resource intensive so hopefully your results should be a bit better. I'll probably make a forum post pretty soon explaining how to setup Reshade with my shaders for people that don't know how.
@BeastHunter oh yeah its the link I gave you in the comment below. Sorry about that confusion. If you have a 3060 you'll probably get playable framerates
@BeastHunter the one I have in this screenshot, probably around 30. My main screenshot one turns SP into a slideshow at like 7 or 8 lol.
Keep in mind my hardware is less powerful than some people's toilets, so if you have a somewhat powerful device your performance should be better.
@BeastHunter I honestly don't remember what version I have, although I know mine is a little outdated. Here's the preset I normally use if you want to try it. The preset in this post isn't very good for thumbnails because it makes them dark and not stand out, but it is good for teasers and things like this. I believe this one is just MagicHDR and MXAO if you want to try it out. (If neither of those do anything for you, Reshade is probably set up wrong)
@BeastHunter yes, but for some reason one of the joysticks was completely non functional for me. I tried messing with controller bindings and it didn't do anything. You can control things outside of the sandbox just by tapping the screen.
Sounds like an issue with how your headset is set up. I don't know a ton about VR stuff, but the Index is controlled by some wireless base stations, right? If I were you I would make sure those are working right. I assume you've played other games on Index. If not, try out a couple of other games from your library and see if they work. If they don't, then you should research a problem with your headset. Sorry I couldn't be much more helpful, but hopefully this helps with your problem. edit: sounds like some people on reddit are having the same problem, you can probably look around there and see what people have to say.
I kind of doubt this is an issue with SimplePlanes itself, just because I've never heard anybody with good hardware talking about lag like that.
@PPLLAANNEE I'm not sure there's anything you can do about that, unfortunately. this has been a problem for a long time. If you want to post it you can probably upload a blank mod map with the name you want, then instead of putting that in the download link, you can put your mod map.
@jamesPLANESii yeah, it's not terribly practical, or cheap. If there was an offline app that mimicked Windows on mobile devices, that would be nice, but as of right now I don't see that happening on my iPhone.
@AverageBreakingBadMeme @HoshimachiSuiseiMyBeloved please don't argue over an ohio joke
8 million people die of starvation every year and this is what we put our effort into?
@TheFlightGuySP Yeah, it's not super great. I bet if you had an MFi controller and a good wired connection on your pc, it would be better, but with my current setup it's too much trouble to be worth it.
get thee some mod tools
Import those into Unity, and now you're cookin'
You also need to add the game object “SimplePlanes map“ and put the terrain inside that object.
Edit: apparently missed the fact that you have already tried this, looks like your version of Unity is out of date though so you probably won't be able to use the current mod tools anyway.
@Nerfaddict ya minimum entry price for vr is about $300, but the performance on one of those is suboptimal. The next cheapest way with decent performance is probably a PSVR setup, which is still a solid $1K and doesn't even run SPVR.
Very nice to see you improving!
Two small things about who you tagged, number one: only the first three people in a comment actually get notified. Number two: a lot of people don't like it when you randomly tag a bunch of people in the hopes they'll upvote it. If you see a bunch of people tagged on a build, they probably asked to be notified when it cmes out. These are just a couple of things to keep in mind, you're new so you probably didn't know.
@ZeroWithSlashedO you also get double points for upvotes, something I was unaware of back when I was asking for curators to take a look at my planes.
64 gigs is a lot of ram for a laptop
+2If I had that much I might even be able to build the tutorial plane!

+11@Bullozeee lol yeah I've gotten that reaction before
I believe most of that is from @LuminoxBiotechCompany.

+1@sustainforelimb can't our ad bots be a little more creative?

+2yo didn't a mod already warn you about mass tagging?
+3@Spaghetti I can just see that as one of those YouTube videos that nobody watches

+1Rpoted fur xpam¡!!!112]!!!
You rickrolled 15,000 people
Oh no its coming for me
@Jckrab12 hmm that's very strange. Hope you get this sorted out.
+2If you update this, you could move the whole terrain down a few meters so that the edges aren't square.

Suspension. I can't make good suspension no matter how hard I try.

+1sweet render
+3@MobileBuilder21 I should have named it Bomb with a Bomb Bay tbh
Sheesh nice render
@CL125 wait wut
Inspect tool, right?
@iYeetPlanes yup
@Robomo119DerMustangKiller um just a bit difficult to tell if you're being serious cause this is kinda random to post on a plane website
That's not Zelda. That's Link.
Also,
here's a guide that can help you out
It's a bit outdated, but still mostly works I created my first map using this guide.

Why all the bloons references lol
@BeastHunter ah that's good.
+1Make an RG version!
Very cool. I just learned how to make custom wings today lol
@BeastHunter ah that makes sense. Hate to see you go, but good luck in life and don't forget us lil SimplePlanes ppl
+1@Nerfaddict ya minimum entry price for vr is about $300, but the performance on one of those is suboptimal. The next cheapest way with decent performance is probably a PSVR setup, which is still a solid $1K and doesn't even run SPVR.
@Kerbango welcome to SimplePlanes
although this thing isn't actually within the rules, so you'll probably end up beating me anyway ;)
I would try the coconut shrimp honestly
+2@ThomasRoderick I wanted to make that but the part count would be insane lol
+1@SILVERPANZER yes
+2SimplePlanes PC edition (for mod support and stuff)
Very nice to see you improving!

@EternalDarkness ok, thanks for letting me know!
+1You still doing these?
