R-44 "Nightshade" (Recon Mod.) - EXPLORER CHALLENGE

9,477 Razor3278  6.6 years ago

For the Explorer Challenge.

Backstory:
The Nightshade is a modification of the P-44 night fighter. The guns were removed and 4 high power cameras were added, one on the front, back and on each side, near the rear fuselage. The radar of the Nightfall is removed and the space was used for the camera operator. The radar was then relocated on the right wing, in a position similar to the single engine night fighters of the war.
It was used in recon missions with great success.

Controls:
AG2- nav lights
VTOL down- flaps
- it pitches upwards for some reason so use some trim to keep level flight.

It’s ok. It’s still flyable. Great job.

One thing weird. At first, flies very well, no pitch problem. When I put VTOL, it obviously pitched it the direction I wanted, but when I put VTOL back to zero, like at first when it flied well, it starts pitching.
