"Start swimming soldier, make it home alive."

Okay I know I was supposed to upload the IRIAF Tomcat first but I just HAVE to do this okay?!

Description

The F/A-18F is the tandem-seat version of the F/A-18E Super Hornet, a twin-engine, twin-tail, mid trapezoidal wing tactical multirole carrier-borne combat aircraft. It is a derivative of the legacy F/A-18 Hornet, being 20% larger and having 33% more internal fuel, it's powered by two General Electric F414-GE-400 turbofans giving it a max speed of Mach 1.8 in clean configuration, a service ceiling of 15,000m (52,000ft), and a combat range of 1,033km (558nmi) in a hi-lo-hi configuration (1x AiM-120, 2x AiM-9, 2x GBU-10, 3x drop tanks), its fly-by-wire system and inherently unstable design made it capable of executing high-G maneuvers, said to be remarkably controllable even in high angles of attack. It can carry a large varying degree of weapons, from AiM-7, AiM-120, and AiM-9 for air-to-air, AGM-65, AGM-88 and AGM-154 for air-to-ground, to AGM-84, AGM-158, and AiM-174 for standoff attacks. The Super Hornet would see action notably in the Middle East with Iraq, Syria, and recently the Red Sea, and are in service with the US, Australia, and Kuwait.

Lore

The F/A-18F No. 203, otherwise known as "Wings of Theve", is a Super Hornet belonging to the Federation of Central Usea Navy, stationed on the aircraft carrier FCU Endurance. piloted by Jan "Rex" Cope, it would partake in the Sotoan Invasion of Central Usea in July 2029, where it faced off against the Sotoan Shadow Squadron flying Sukhoi Su-57s, led by its leader Shadow-22/Ares. No.203 would be shot down in battle presumably by the Shadow Squadron, taking the life of its pilot, Jan "Rex" Cope. Not much else is known as Ace Combat 8 isn't out yet (as of January 2026).

In This SimplePlanes Version

• Custom paint job - Based on Wings of Theve obviously.
• Semi-realistic performance - It can reach Mach 1, accelerate smoothly, and most importantly behaves realistically at High-AoA as I've learned how to use symmetric airfoil.
• Detailed cockpit - Quality wise it's somewhere in between my simple and complex cockpit, to save production time and not make it too bland, and personally the digital displays are pretty nice.
• Semi-realistic weapons - The missiles have been tuned to roughly match their irl counterparts, as usual.
• Minor details - Antennas, simple wing servos, and uhhh the canted intakes I guess.

Armaments

• 4x AiM-120C AMRAAM
• 2x AiM-9L Sidewinder
• 2x AGM-84C Harpoon
