BlackGearCompany, or BGC, was founded by Navarro in the 10th century according to the NeueErde calendar. The company's main headquarters is located in the fictional country or empire named the Empire of Arete, located in the heart of the main continent, Eurasia.

Originally, Navarro established BGC as a complex military-industrial company and a provider of mercenary services in the 9th century to address global and domestic conflict needs. The company began as a provider of security systems and military equipment. In the year 934, BGC became infamous for its covert involvement in espionage in the Central continent and faced human rights issues in locations where their mercenaries operated or were contracted. This included the discovery of evidence of the use of mass destruction NBC weapons. BGC's PMC became known for its brutality, even though the central BGC entity did not openly admit to it. BGC also had a discreetly operating specialized division called TheWolfOrder.
