The F72S is a single seat twin engine multirole fighter , the craft was the result of the 1975 ASDF program , an Astranesian air dominance fighter program that led to the F72 , at 1960s-70s , the AAF arsenal were mainly F73s , F62Ms , F65 and F66s , none of these were really great jets , 73s lack air to ground capability and high accident rate , 62Ms were heavy and barely operable , 66s were in a such small quantity , 65s were probably the best of them all , but it also has a high crash rate and the technology that was getting outdated , which later AAF decided to make the ASDF program , there were no other company than AAI that entered the program , they proposed two design , first were F65SS , a massively improved F65 , and the second is a new twin engine design , the new design was chosen over the F65SS , the development took 1 and a half year to finished , most of those time were used to improve the craft new technologies and performance , most of the aircraft parts were Astranesian , but it used Avalon radar display , the craft was kept top secret for 3 years after its maiden flight , and later in 1979 it was revealed to the public , turns out not many 72S were built , there were only 3 of them , and only assigned to the 34th ACDTW , and in 1980 they were send to mass production (F72A) , however , in 1978 a gun cam of a Kronens fighter captured a silhouette similar to the F72 , turns out when these Kronens fighter were trespassing , to the ACDTW secret air base , most of them were shot down , from 4 planes , only 1 made it back to base , the 3 were assumed to be shot down , however , AAF denied any allegation of shooting down Kronens fighter
