Easy Flyer & VR: Dragonfly 200

Dragonfly 200 is one of the most maneuverable helicopters ever, You can take off and land on a tight spot anywhere. If you are new to helicopters and have difficulty handling them, you will love it. No tail rotor because it follows a twin intermeshing rotors principle (like in the famous Kaman HH-43 Huskie)
This video is not edited so that you can see all the maneuvers between take-off to landing.

Check out the FLIGHT TUTORIAL here:

AG-1 Engine start
AG-2 Lights
AG-7 and VTOL lower to 60% will let the helicopter hover and stay in one place

Flying Tips

Engine start, hit (AG1) and THROTTLE to 100%
Then move the VTOL to MAX slowly,
For the forward flight, Lower the VTOL a bit (75%) and don't put it to MAX

  • Nose down, will gain forward speed
  • Nose up will reduce the forward speed
  • Nose up, VTOL 50%, and AG7 will bring the helicopter down gently

Helicopter Principle:

Dragonfly 200 follows the intermeshing rotors principle as in Famous Husky and K-125 as shown below. Which uses 2 intermeshing rotors and it does not need the tail rotor.

The K-125 was Charles Kaman's first helicopter, which utilized intermeshing rotors and Kaman's patented servo-flap stability control. The K-125 first flew on 15 January 1947. - Wikiprdia

@WinsWings ps, in my version of the helicopter, I switched the rotor power/speed input from Throttle straight to Activate1. The throttle governor makes the idea of adjustable throttle useless anyhow. Then I switched the rotor pitch from VTOL to throttle so I could have all 4 commands on my two joysticks, like on a model toy helicopter. Then I landed on the edge of the Krakabloa volcano, just because.....

    Cool and fun little Heli!
don't like the always gyro-on, but I get why.

@Quercon well, thanks for the offer. I will look into it. I study physics and love aviation, balance, and Physics rather than writing codes in funky trees. Therefore I have a good reason for using gyro, measuring the balance, and calculating aerodynamics as in the world.

Btw i noticed that all of your helis (at least the ones i know of) use gyros to fly. I however can make autopilots for helicopters, that allow for easy control without any gyros (including hover mode). Would you be interested in utilising some of the tech in your next helis?

(Here is a link, if you want to check out the kind of technology im talking about, its not the best example of it i have, but it is the best example i have published)

@KPLBall Yes, I will do. Since it is easy to handle and easy to aim and shoot the convoy in the mountains near the Bandit Airfield
