The FB2 was the replacement for the FB1 has design during the 'Year of Replacements' or whatever the MDA calls it. This happened when I replaced the old stuff (Excelsior, C-20, F-33 series, ect. With the newer Excelsior IIs, and F-33A-50s series.)
The FB2 is the replacement for the older FB1. The FB2 replaced the 4 prop and 2 jets of the six engines FB1 with the FB2's four high power jet engines. It has mounts for JATO's. The FB2 does have a higher cargo capacity and speed, for somewhat poorer armor and takeoff speed.
