"Smiling in the Face of Danger!"

ABOUT THIS PLANE:

As I'm a sucker for V-Tails and the YF-23's airframe, here is another plane with those characteristics. The VX-54 is based on Matchbox's Skybuster SB-54 Fighter Jet, and the only reference I can find for its viewpoints is the top view, and I can't seem to find any pictures of its underbody floating around the internet. As I only have the Top view for reference, I decided to get creative with its underbody and made it look like the underbody of the Boeing X-32, and so, this aircraft became a combination of the YF-23 and the X-32.

This aircraft can be made slimmer if it had the underbody of the YF-23, but I preferred to use the X-32's because I like it Thick and Funny. However, to differ from the X-32's underbody, I placed the landing gear on the fuselage instead of being on the Wings.

This plane, even though having 4 exhausts, only has 3 engines as there is no space left to put another pair of jet engines in the bottom, and having only two engines at the top provides downward thrust, so I put in a third engine to balance the Center of Thrust. There are Two Jet engines placed on the top, while the Third Engine is placed in between and underneath the Two Engines with its exhaust ports divided into two. The third engine is a cordium-powered engine, which is as good as the two engines combined, giving the VX-54 an equal thrust output across all exhaust ports.

This aircraft is fairly mobile-friendly, with only 542 parts, but since it's been a while since I incorporated custom weapons in my builds, I decided to equip this plane with some custom weapons, which is why the resulting part is a staggering 1216 parts.

AIRCRAFT DESCRIPTION:

A large, long-range, fighter-bomber prototype based on the designs of other experimental airframes, such as the X/D-32. It is designed to infiltrate enemy lines, to loiter within contested airspace, and to quickly intercept large numbers of air targets. Its shape incorporates reduced radar cross-section (RCS) and IR Signature reduction, increasing its survivability on the battlefield, and its large body is a lifting body designed to provide lift while housing 2 engines and a cordium engine, its heavy landing gears, and a wide variety of advanced internal weapons. Its unique engine configuration of 2 regular turbofan engines allows for the installation of a cordium-based engine underneath, providing efficient fuel consumption and powerful thrust, enabling the aircraft to supercruise, go supersonic at low altitudes, and have an excellent combat range. Its large size also enables it to house a large internal weapons bay that can carry a high amount of a variety of advanced payloads while still having an adequate space to carry a huge amount of cordium and fuel.

The VX-54 boasts incredible speed, acceleration, and payload capacity, but it greatly lacks maneuverability, hence relying on advanced weaponries to achieve its mission parameters.

NOTES:
  • This Aircraft has an Unstable Airframe and Prone to Stall
    when Overcorrecting Controls.
Use AG7 (Cruise Mode) to Stabilize the Plane.

  • Stall Speed at TAS < 250 MPH and AOA > 15 Degrees.

  • On TakeOff,
Set Throttle to > 60%, Pitch up at TAS > 340 MPH.

  • On Landing,
Reduce Speed to between 250 MPH and 300 MPH,
Maintain Pitch to 5 - 10 Degrees above the Horizon,
    Or Align Pitch with Horizon.
Use AG7 (Cruise Mode) For Better Stability.

  • On Refueling,
Activate AG7 (Cruise Mode), Set Trim to 50%, and
    Align with Tanker

P.S THIS AIRCRAFT HAS OVER A THOUSAND PARTS BECAUSE OF ITS WEAPONS!!!
