OCEAN CLASS

RRS Pacific is the leader of Ocean-class Nuclear Battleship built by R&R Heavy Industry / RRHI, named after the world’s oceans. Ocean class was conceived as a successor to Demon class, addressing that earlier design's obsolescence and operational inefficiencies through a comprehensive reassessment of armament, survivability, and cost effectiveness for modern naval conflict.

RRHI’s engineering and scientific teams concluded that the continued reliance on ever more expensive precision missiles produced diminishing returns when facing modern layered active defense systems, most notably sophisticated Close In Weapon Systems (CIWS) and other advance active protection suites. Although individually powerful, high end missiles can be rendered ineffective or expended in small numbers by these defensive technologies, producing disproportionate financial cost for marginal tactical gain. Ocean class therefore adopts a doctrine of economical force projection, a weapons architecture optimized for mass, brutal saturation, and attrition that can approximate missile level destructive effect at a fraction of per round cost.

At the heart of this approach is the ship’s main battery, six turrets, each housing four large caliber guns that fire rocket assisted, high explosive projectiles. These rounds combine substantial blast and incendiary effects with extended range and improved terminal accuracy through rocket assist and modern fire control integration, yielding performance characteristics that approach those of guided missile systems while remaining markedly less expensive to produce and expend. Ocean class is intended to deliver sustained, high volume bombardment against surface vessels, littoral installations, and fixed shore targets, overwhelming enemy point defense arrays through sheer volume and forcing adversaries to deplete limited defensive munitions.

To preserve survivability against contemporary detection and attack, Ocean class incorporates a signature reduced hull form and an all or nothing armor scheme, focused on protecting the ship from all side. Its layered defensive fit includes multiple CIWS batteries, an extensive complement of multirole missiles, torpedo, and a well equipped aviation detachment of shipborne helicopters for surveillance and anti submarine warfare. Integrated sensor suites and modern electronic warfare systems provide situational awareness and active countermeasures to complicate an adversary’s targeting and engagement.

Powered by naval nuclear reactor, Ocean class combines high sustained speed with effectively unlimited operational range between refuelling cycles, constrained primarily by requirements for provisions and crew endurance. This propulsion architecture enables rapid redeployment, prolonged on station presence, and sustained high tempo operations that complement the ship’s saturation based lethality. In operational terms, RRS Pacific and her sister ships are intended to function as both sea control platforms and mobile firebases capable of imposing attritional pressure on enemy defenses while offering a resilient centerpiece for fleet task groups.

M-WAR II

After the end of M-War II, Ocean class battleships were assigned to various RRHI fleet to complement Gensokyo class destroyers. At least, one fleet had one Ocean class as its flagship.
