In late 1952 new high altitude jet bombers began to enter service, however, the Air Force soon noticed that the jet fighters that were in service lacked the range to be able to perform long missions with said bombers, because of this a design contest was made in january 1953. The winner ended up being an aircraft submited by the company Ad Astra, however, the prototype by the company Aeron Works caught the attention of the Air Force, after months of testing the Aeron-13A was presented, it received the nickname of " Screamer" due to its large air intake in aircraft's nose. The Air Force ordered production of 12 Screamers meant as an alternative to Ad Astra's design and it entered service in late november of 1953.

The Screamer had a length of 15.5m, a wingspan of 11.1m and a height of 5.2m.
It had an empty weight of 5,966kg and, in a full load of fuel, it could reach a loaded weight of 8,914kg, but for an average mission its loaded weight would be around 7,260kg.

As per weaponry, it was only equiped with 2 french 30mm DEFA cannons, however, later versions were equiped with 4 of them and even A/A missiles in some versions.

At sea level it could reach speeds of 750kph and speeds of 1,183kph at 10,000m (both using True Air Speed)
If the Screamer reached low speeds it could stall and enter a flat spin that was very hard to recover from, this sadly caused lots of accidents and the deaths of some pilots, after this it was decided that only experienced pilots were to fly the Screamer.

Its slow speed at low altitudes, lack of weaponry and radar made it obsolete in short time, altough later versions were able to give the Screamer some life for a while, its days as a fighter were over, then being used as a trainer and as a ground attack aircraft.
