F-21 "Great Auk"

The EnchAero F-21 "Great Auk" is a twin-engine, all-weather, tactical fighter aircraft, designed and built by Enchodor Aerospace in the late 70s. It is inspired from the F-15, but it looks like an F-15 combined with a MiG-25.

It is supposed to be the betterfied version of one of my earlier builds, the Hawk.

Description

In 1969, the Royal Miladic Air Force needed a fighter to replace their older ones when those become outdated. Hence birthed the NASF Programme. Miladic Aircraft Corporation and Enchodor Aerospace were given requests for proposal for the new fighter.

In 1974, MAC unveiled the YF-24. Then 4 months later, EA unveiled the YF-21. After some evaluation, the YF-24 was the winner, and MAC signed a deal with the RMAF to build 700 units for them. EA, despite losing, still worked on the YF-21, albeit at a slower pace.

However, the new F-24 suffered many issues during its early years in service. Some were lost in accidents, claiming the lives of a few pilots, forcing the grounding of the type by the RMAF. While MAC tried to solve the issues, EA was given the green light to continue with their YF-21, in case the F-24 fails.

EA then created the F-21, which by surprise, is far more excellent in performance than the F-24. EA and the RMAF signed a deal that the former will build 250 units for the latter, while the F-24 order is reduced to 500 aircraft.

Ironically, both planes now co-exist together in the RMAF, having served well during their service, especially during the Second Great War. Sadly, they wont be with the RMAF for long, as a new stealth fighter is in the works, the "Nightingale", by EA themselves.
