1Parts HUD

49.0k PlanariaLab  one month ago

There were some bugs in the display, so the corrected version is here.

Be sure to read the instructions before using the product.

By exploiting the variable function and text labels, it is possible to create a HUD with a certain level of functionality using only one part.

---How to use---

Place this HUD (TextLabel) directly in front of the view point (camera or cockpit), copy the variables TGTPOS_Local_X, TGTPOS_Local_Y, and TGTPOS_Local_Z from this build, and set the newly defined variable HudDistance to an appropriate value.
If you don't know about variables, plrase read back the SP1.11 release notes

Caution, changing the height or width of the label is not recommended as it may cause the drawing to collapse.

---Variables list---

  • HudDistance
This is used to properly position the TD BOX and other displays.
Enter the distance between the HUD and the view point.
If you have changed the scale of the HUD

Probably won't be using it, but You can also make the distance variable.

  • TGTPOSLocal(X/Y/Z)
The relative coordinates of the player and the target.
Local is so named because the coordinate system follows the local coordinate system based on the player's direction.
Basically, you don't need to change anything, just copy and paste what is stored in this build.

---Display contents---

I'm not familiar with the terminology, so sorry if I'm wrong.

You do not need permission to use it in your work.
Also, a credit will make the author happy, but is not required.

Please read the explanation once before asking a question. Writing the same reply over and over is very tiring

I just want to know how my parts are being used in the work through notifications and ego searches.
So an description or comment is enough.

@PlaneFlightX that isn’t an issue. A lot of us benefit from being able to count to 1000, instead of 12, 3, 5280, and other random numbers

Hi, this thing is awsome ! I looked into the label and it's insanely complicated. I'd like to make a needle that turns with a specific formula, basically I want this "|" to turn with the camera view. Any suggestion or a link to a good tutorial ? Thanks.

I'm gonna use your Hud in my f-14. do you wanted to be credited with your name as an aircraft crew member on the plane, or just a normal credit in the description?

Could you help me make a functional Reflex sight, model Derveaux 20.162/ Derveaux-Baudoint 100B ? Image of the reticle
I need it to be made the same way as this HUD, only one part with both the fixed cross and moving part. The color is yellow #FFEE00.
The moving part works like a "standard" gyro/telemetric-radar-guided gunsight like the ones in F-86 or F-84F series for example.
Also no need to do this but it'd be awesome if the moving part could also adjust itself in funtion of the target's distance (up to 5400m), following the ballistics of this DEFA 552 30mm cannon.

    Thanks in advance m8 !

Can you make it so you can make the HUD smaller without working destructively? Scaling it down and using the variables to try to scale it down only makes it work improperly. Your instructions on scaling are unclear

Just look for lines of code with things like TAS and Altitude and just delete them.

Hey there, I've got a question for ya.
How would you recommend going about putting it in Imperial units? I put the code in Word to find TAS and Altitude, and I'm not quite sure how I should go about converting between the two. Any advice?
