Background :

The MK-29 Guided Missile Launching System is a octuple box launcher SAM that can carry the RIM-7 sea sparrow or the RIM-162D ESSM. It can be found on the Nimitz class carriers and Ford class carriers. Its purpose is to provide a quick reacting medium ranged point defence SAM to carriers that are unable to fit the larger and more sophisticated MK-41 VLS cells which carries the longer ranged SAMS such as the SM-2,SM-6 and SM-3.
This MK-29 Guided Missile Launching System carries 8X RIM-162D ESSM which can be carried on the MK-29 launchers and even quad packed in the MK-41 VLS,
the MK-29 replaces the much older and larger MK-25 Guided Missile Launching System.
Fun fact : This launcher is what inspired the SAM systems seen in SimplePlanes which can be found on the destroyers and the ice base.

HOW TO USE :

Select a target and wait for the turret to finish aiming before firing a missile.
