Final version of the HMAS Vampire, an Australian destroyer.

Launched HMS Wallace, She was renamed HMS Vampire and commissioned into British service. During and after World War 1, She patrolled the Mediterranean Sea, before being transferred to the RAN in 1933. In World War 2, she was part of the "Scrap Iron Flotilla" patrolling the Mediterranean Sea (again), then, after being transferred to the Pacific, escorted the Prince Of Wales and the Repulse in Singapore, when they we ere sunk by Japanese bombers, shepherded ships going in and out of Singapore, and was finally sunk on the 9th of April 1942 at 10:55 am off the coast of Batticaloa, Ceylon by Japanese carrier aircraft, along with another ship, the HMS Hermes. The Commanding Officer of the Vampire, 19 Officers of the Hermes, and 296 Ratings (288 from the Hermes, 8 from the Vampire) Died in the attack.

    I've seen the actual HMAS vampire. It quite a bit more majestic than that. But after all, it's a destroyer. It's not supposed to be majestic.

    The pictures are a bit hard to use as a reference.
    I found a picture of the stern in a drydock. The propellers are massive (compared to the ship)
