~THE RD-50~
(This is all made up so it’s not important)
The RD-50 is a 3rd++ gen interceptor made for Rula’s military in the 1970s, about the time that it gained its independence from the then-superpower, the Traevent Federation.
It was the result of a contract worth some 10bn dollars in today’s money, which would be awarded to a company that could have a full-scale mock-up for a new interceptor to protect the young country’s airspace.
The usual suspects, the Gura design bureau, and Froj Inc., both came up with their designs for the new interceptor, but Froj’s was far superior.
It could carry up to 4 of the state-of-the-art RE-3 missiles that were used at the time, and could reach speeds exceeding Mach 1.
It also had unprecedented maneuverability in the tricky transonic range, but this put a lot of stress on the airframe, and pilots were instructed not to perform maneuvers that would have them put over 3 Gs of stress on the airframe, unless it was an emergency.
Even though the airframe can withstand over 10 Gs of force, this was probably done to increase the lifespan of the airframes.
Because of its black paint job and menacing looks, it quickly got its nickname, the Black Shark.
It also came with early countermeasures, designed to throw off the missiles of the time, which was not common in other interceptors of the time.
And then, of course, there is the strange engine placement that is in a configuration with one on top of the other. No one really knows why this is, but maybe Froj’s designers were just bored with the other common designs of the time and just decided to do their own thing.
~INSTRUCTIONS~
(Important, actually read pls)
This plane is my first that has a custom canopy that opens. When you spawn in, your canopy will automatically open to try to simulate a pilot getting in or out, which unfortunately means that it isn’t a wise idea to start from a final approach.
In any case, if you want to close it, just deactivate AG-8
or flip the switch that says “close canopy”
on the right side of the cockpit, and the canopy will start to close
This jet has 4 fire-and-forget missiles mounted on the main fuselage under the wings. I did this because I wanted to make this plane unique, and that is also the reason for the vertically stacked engines.
It also has absolutely MASSIVE airbrakes, which are essential if you want to have any chance of slowing yourself down.
This is my first plane in a week (I was playing War Thunder mobile)
And I hope you enjoy!
Пока! (that means bye in Russian)

To me, the layout resembles the English Electric Lightning, engines are also vertically positioned one above the other and the missiles are on the fuselage
