VTR-90 [S] (Configuration S type) "Shamlink" is a Tank Destroyer/Mobile Assault Gun(MAG) made from the Tank Destroyer program(Namely the TTdTe-1956) made in 1968, just after the Korean war, the immediate needs of Tank destroyer came into play due to a need of quick direct-fire support for many Thai Main Battle Tank, the designs began in 1956 where the TTdTe program started, but it was delayed until 1960 that many international programmes were put to place to attract investors, one of them is Bofors AB, and so the Joint Thai-Swedish Tank design is put into work, resulting in a VTR-90(S) , the first Configuration without the Spaced armor and 90mm HEAT configured L*T4 tank gun, the Designer of the strv.103, Sven Berge, shared his Hydropneumatic Hydraulic system scheme to Thai engineers to domestically produce and use them, it was seen use in Vietnam war but other than that, it was never exported elsewhere due to the cost of Maintaining the Hydropneumatic Suspension to be working.

VTR-90 is later to be retired and Replaced with later smarter TK-12's Series namely the "Vin" and "Link", while some attempts like putting a Gun Launcher on VTR-90 Config have been put to work, it was deemed too expensive. It was to be retired in 1997, where in 2002 the arms export started.
