Main Battle Tank TK-6 [Pattana TK-6, K-6 MBT]
is a third Generation Main Battle Tank of Republic of Thailand, it was designed in 1978 and entered service in 1989, it was meant to replace TK-5(1965) which was still in service at the time, various variations have been made around the TK-6 Chassis, including the DANAI (Defensive Armament New Artillery Interface), it is continued to be operated until 2005, and was later modified to be an export variants, shipped to South East Asian country, such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea. And various other Asian countries, including Oman and India.

On early version, the TK-6 is fit with only 105mm Gun just like the TK-5-1965, but in 1990, it was later fit with 120mm R5 (Replaced Standard 120mm M9TK6 for Nato Standard ammunition, instead of Local made) as Package A, current package, it was later put on Export in 2000-2006, and some purchased a license to produce such as Indonesia, and Singapore.

TK-6 used a Philosophy of "Fast firing, Heavy Armored, and Terrain Hunter" when firstly designed, with the assist of ROF and Rheinmetall during development, when the US Ordinance disallowed sell of M1IP to Thailand, the Institute of Armor have contracted the UK Royal Ordinance factory for Assistances in Designing a Third-Generation Main Battle Tank, Resulting in many aspect of UK design philosophy, such as the Falcon turret, and Enlarged hull. Rheinmetall was also contracted to Inspect the 105mm M7TK6, and deemed Reliable, until 1990 the A package with 120mm M9TK6 was Inspected by them again. T-6 Integrated computer was also locally made specifically for TK-6, as its main function is Ballistic Calculation and Automatic fire control, though, no function for Automatic Leading was found until 2008.

it was also imported to Japan for the University of Tank Excellency and Armored Defense Academy in Japan to be used in a Joint training and Education, due to Similarity between TK-6 and Type 90.
