Sikorsky S-97 Concept Helicopter
About The S-97 Helicopter
This helicopter is a concept by a company known as Sikorsky, and they made this concept helicopter called the S-97. The S-97 has counter rotating rotors which will cancel out the torque from one another. This trick is used on most cheap RC Helicopters because of how easy it is to use. So sense the rotors make no adverse torque what do they put on the tail? It doesn’t need a tail rotor so they decided to put a proper on the back! This allows the helicopter to fly forwards without having to lean the helicopter in a certain direction. This also allows a high top speed, and the counter rotating blades will allow it to fly at that soles because if one rotor is going into wind and the others going away from the wind, the rotor going away won’t make as much lift (Not sure if that effect is in SP). Thanks to SP physics I had to flip one rotor upside down to make it rotate the other direction, it was a pain...

Lol, it’s a cool helicopter @MDippold1995
Ooo very nice, I love these FVL acft... Cant wait to see if this or the v280 gets the contract cause they both look great. Makes me wish I was born a little later really cause I'd love to work on a dual rotor but I'll have to be happy toiling away on my 47
Thanks man! @Zyvx
Fun to fly, easy too. Nice chopper.
It does... @ACEPILOT109
It’s not hard, just takes time to get used to. If that make sense?@ViridiCinis
I wish I could build something like this because I love helicopters (more than planes). @ACEPILOT109
I guess so @BroAeronautics
@ACEPILOT109 so basically it's the civilian version?
It’s the same idea, but this is Sikorskys take on it @BroAeronautics
Is this the same thing as the Boeing Veritcal Lift or are they different?
