RJ TSI3 7.4

Introduction

I started this build a long time ago, i wanted something that was a mixup of a Mig25/31 and TSR2... I also wanted it to have suspension on the dangly undercarriage in a manner similar to the Sepecat Jaguar.

Based on the assumption that TSR2 was not cancelled and went on to serve as an exceptional fast strike aircraft, the program was expanded to include an interceptor style aircraft that could carry substantially more armament that the EE Lightning and have a longer loiter time.

Controls

AG1 = Reheat, nozzle expansion and intake opening
1
7

AG2 = start the engines
(a picture is not possible here for obvious reasons..)

AG3 = Airbrakes
2

AG4 = drop the underslung fuel tank
4

VTOL dn = flaps and slats
5

LG = sequenceds LandingGear and doors (works really smartly in my opinion)

Instructions

As mentioned previously i have incorporated suspension into all 3 undercarriage legs for a change, now this has its own positives and negatives; positive - can take small bumps nicely, negative - SP physics with springs blowing up, moving outside of housing and twisting for no reason. To avoid the negative aspects stay within these limits;

  • Takeoff, half flaps, full throttle and reheat, full pull back, takeoff around 180-200kts. Avoid jerky steering on the ground or too many bumps
  • Landing, full flaps, airbrakes out, reduce throttle to 5% ish (the throttle doesnt take into account that when the engines are running they are already on 5%), land around 150-180kts evenly across rear wheels.

Other

G limit is set at 8G using Mikoyansters formula on some hidden wings (I found using 2 different pitch wings actually smooths out the g limit snap a bit).

I realise it is over-powered, over fueled and doesnt burn enough fuel on re-heat, i left it this way intentionally and all can easily be resolved if you so desire (fuel tank is a cylinder just behind the rear cockpit internally)

Stats (dont forget SP counts vertical wings as part of the lifting wing area so lbs/ft2 is wrong

    @ChiChiWerx thanks again for your comments and upvotes. I do admit that I focused this build around the camo scheme and undercarriage design, once I had them sorted I struggled for motivation to finish it hence lack of detail on fuselage sides / fins and no lights etc but I thought it worth publishing as it was still a fun build to play around with. Thanks again.

    Flies quite smoothly and lands quite smoothly, which I like. The G limiter also acts quite smoothly, I would have limited it to 10 Gs, with a G meter there to prevent over Gs by the pilot, but it’s not nearly as annoying as some G limiters I’ve come across in SP.

    @Ruvien0Republic0Officer it happens all the time to me, my builds of late struggle to get higher than 30 but it doesnt matter as its fun to build. By far the funniest bit about this though was you commented that it lacks upvotes and then didnt upvote it yourself lol

    Hmm, the intakes of a MIG-25 or 31 and the wings of an F-35. An interesting plane for sure
