L N HGS-1

1,821 Y  4.2 years ago

During the closing stages of Second World War (D-Day onwards) the British realized they needed an aircraft that could provide air support to troops on the ground. As the British had established airfields, it didn't need to be long-range. But it was (sort of) anyways. Two L&N PHP-1/33 2000HP powered the plane along at ~250MPH. 9, yes 9, 20mm Hispano-Suza cannons made this thing have a THICC burst mass per second. The suspension is mediocre at best. I tried. The L&N HGS-1 also had 6 American made 250lb GP bombs on it. Credits to @Megamonster for the beautiful RAF roundels on the wings. Civillian: "How many cannons does this thing have?" Pilot: "Yes."
