"Tiger II"
Also known as the Freedom Fighter, albeit that name was more common on early variants like the F-5A- later variants like this here F-5E were Tiger IIs.
It's not uncommon
for me to make the most obscure and forgotten aircraft possible, or at the very least aircraft which lack popularity due to overshadowing. So let's shift things up and introduce a PEA-G of an aircraft that you probably all know: the F-5E Tiger II!
Used by various countries- some of which still operate them, converted into a trainer that's still used plenty to this day, and featured as the MiG-28 in Top Gun, the F-5 is almost certainly one of the most famous and crucial American fighters of the later half of the 20th century (well, at least excluding our beloved fourth-gens like the F-14, 15, 16, 18...). This F-5E here doesn't come with too much, but that's expected seeing as it is a PEA-G. At 55 parts, you get a well-flying airframe, two guns, and a pair of missiles which can be used against almost any foe of your liking!
Also, this F-5E is the beginning of PEA-G Batch 3 (Batches relating to the time at which I built a group of PEA-Gs). Batch 3 is the smallest of the Batches so far, with its occupation matching its members (3).
PEA Lore:
It's not uncommon for PEA lore to reveal the absolute most insane, crazy, and diabolical PEAs out there. However, this guy was actually pretty chill. F-5's were considered by many to be delightful to be around, no wonder they flew with so many nations across the world!
Oh, let's not forget the Baguette War, F-5s played a crucial role in that.
