Part-Efficient Aircrafts~!!

xml updated, less responsive engines, less responsive roll/pitch movement, slightly weaker engine, and MOAR yaw power for the holy duty of hovering gunship HAH!

also added cockpit aim, I've missed that somehow

xml updated again, added the snubby tail and the mini rudder below, I'm da shcoofpid

i guess per technical my actual first VTOL(that I've uploaded) if you don't count in helis.

why do I have to pick Harrier out of all choices... hm? why am i complaining? oh, OH YOU WANNA KNOW?

DISAPPOINTING IN VTOL, DISAPPOINTING IN FLIGHT!!

ARGHHHH
ahem, i apologize for my outburst, it is un("un" my arse, IT IS)warranted, the performance is not as what I aimed it to be, mediocre at best even.. not to mention the natural instability that comes with that excessive anhedral... I think. ITS DAMN UNSTABLE THOUGH AGH

once you get to know it though, it's fun, it requires your actual attention to fly, like, your attention's attention lmao, once you get the weird hover feeling, it's actually kinda good, especially paired with the GAU-12 bursts

i fukin love this plane, nevermind the rant

The McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) AV-8B Harrier II is a single-engine ground-attack aircraft that constitutes the second generation of the Harrier family, capable of vertical or short takeoff and landing (V/STOL). The aircraft is primarily employed on light attack or multi-role missions, ranging from close air support of ground troops to armed reconnaissance. The AV-8B is used by the United States Marine Corps (USMC), the Spanish Navy, and the Italian Navy. A variant of the AV-8B, the British Aerospace Harrier II, was developed for the British military, while another, the TAV-8B, is a dedicated two-seat trainer.

[ Controls ]

[ Normal ]

  • Standard Aircraft Controls

[ VTOL ]

  • VTOL : Jet Nozzle orientation, goes 90° forward, 22.5° backward
  • Pitch, Roll, Yaw : VTOL Control

[ Other ]

  • Gyro disables and Flaps retracts around 240km/h(149mph)
  • Activate1 if you feel like you're confident and need no gyro to tell you what's up :)

[ Guidelines ]

[ Taxiing ]

  • 2-4% Power, Yaw to turn Nose gear

[ Takeoff ]

  • Rolling Takeoff, VTOL full up, 100% Power(alternatively angle your nozzle downwards to achieve shorter takeoff); Vertical Takeoff, 65-70% Power.

[ Flight ]

  • Normal Flight, Standard Controls; VTOL Mode, 64-66% Power to hover in place, 67-68% and angle nozzle a bit to achieve a little forward speed(or backwards, depends on choice really.)

[ Landing ]

  • Rolling Landing(is that even a thing?), reduce power until speed is relatively slow, angle nozzle downwards, touchdown; Vertical Landing, slow down below 240km/h(149mph) and let the gyro kick in for stabilization, slow down till it stops moving, 60-65% Power to descend slowly, don't worry, beefy gear :3

[ Armaments ]

  • 1x GAU-12 Equalizer 25mm Rotary Cannon, 3300rpm, 1000m/s(3280ft/s), HE Rounds.
  • 2x LAU-68 Rocket Pods, 7 Rockets each.
  • 2x AIM-9 Sidewinder, 857.5m/s(2818ft/s), 35.4km(22 miles) max range
  • 2x AGM-122 Sidearm(ATG version of Sidewinder), 788m/s(2588ft/s),

[ Notes ]

  • this is Kormoran of the PEA Series, badly built, bad-performing, good irl records, and i ended up loving it anyway, what a predicament.. a good one actually, a good predicament huh.. does that exist?
  • due to the natural err... wing arrangement with the anhedral and all, it's rather beau-quouis when it is, and.. when it's not, it's not; its like it's sentient kinda thing where it grabs your control kinda thing

Free to use!

if ya want to make an airbase, or maybe make an airwing for a carrier, or maybe to help battleships lead their shells, you can add and use any of my planes (unless you claim them as your own creation, i will damp your pillows if you do.)

Want More Part-Efficient Aircrafts?

come along come along! we(yes, we.) have a lot of low part, simple, and realistic performing aircrafts for all to use and fight against! light performance cost and AI-spawnable, there's no reason not to! we have the little beloved Fuchs, the graceful Muromets, the Holy Mi-26, and... a lot of obscure aircrafts are available!!

P.S. there's also Community Submitted PEA, if you wanna join our abode of simple aircrafts, I welcome!! as along as it is according to the rules down on the forum, cough.

P.S. if you want to throw in an idea, maybe a plane, a ship, anything really(I even got an interdimensional interplanetary vacuum cleaner).. go do it, I'll pick it up if i find the idea interesting enough.

@screechy there are actually a few likely cases, e.g. file size too big(usually on ships) or the most common... the URL of the XML itself was changed which you can manually change with a text editor but I can't exactly explain it well but you see in this case of my harrier having "gb6Mn3" on the link? that's the URL ID, now open up text editor and get that new XML and find the "URL" and paste the url of the build you want to update the XML of

@CaptainSquadronLeaderX Harrier is a British original, but AV-8B is a license-built by the US (for the US Marines only)
