Sd.Kfz 2 "Kettenkrad" is a half-track motorcycle with a single front wheel, developed in Germany during World War II.
In 1938, the German company NSU began developing the Kfz. 620 semi-armored tracked vehicle as a tractor for use in forests. The Germans took notice of this. It was adopted as a tractor for Fallschirmjäger who parachuted from airplanes into enemy territory.
On the Eastern Front, the Kfz.620 was useful because it could run even in muddy conditions. It was also used as a tractor for towing aircraft at air force bases.
After the war, nearly 500 of these tractors were reproduced.
