Light Tank TK-2

Tier 2, Tech Tree, Light tank

Pattana TK-2 or TK-2 General purposes Light tank, is a World War 2 Thai Designed primary Cavalry Light Tank made solely for Rough and Mountainous terrain Traversal. It began in development in 1934 as per request of Royal Thai Army in contract to Pattana.

TK-2 is by far, the only stabilised Tank in the Royal Thai Army arsenal during WW2, able to inflict fear and destruction on the Japanese after the 1941 Invasion until surrender of Thailand, while some if not most are also being captured by the Japanese, they were widely used against the US Tank like the Sherman in order to defend the Japanese occupied Territory, armed with Two 5.5mm KGmG Coaxial machine gun and 60mm M3TK2 Tank gun, during the Japanese invasion, the TK-2 was to face many of the Japanese Medium tanks and Light tanks, when with the light tanks, the Tank is Generally fine, on the other hand, the more Armored one are struggling to penetrate due to Sub-Velocity MH 4 APDR (Armor Piercing Discarding Rounded Head), to this, with the MH 3 Underpowering APHE is struggling, the Thai Research and Weapon Discovery find an Experimental usage to the APHEPB, Armor Piercing High Explosive Plate Breaking,

APHEPB was meant to weaken or thin out the enemy armor via ultra hot metallic liquid or immense amount of high explosive solid filler and Armor Piercing core, however, the Experimental round itself is seen use, and is pretty effective against Medium to Quasi-Heavy as it effectively thin out 20-23% of the armor thickness. The round was also meant for TK-2 to be a support tank alongside TK-3 Medium tank with also high powering 85mm M4TK3.

But due to resources problem, the round is unfortunately discontinued due to expenses and upcost. But during Cold war it was effectively revived due to surfing of the Economy and Reutilisation, but is pretty limited to Casemate Tank Destroyer, due to the Fear of T-10M, and other Soviet Cold war heavy.

All of the Round was later to be classified as APHE, and not a Plate Breaker anymore, as the Plate Breaking is now a function of the average APHE round with width more than 100mm and was later be replaced by Locally produced HESH shell for all modern tanks across, and the Plate breaker is soon to be extinct.

TK-2 was a Form factor of the Thai discontinuing the request for Light tank and aiming for their Mountainous and Jungle capable Casemate Tank Destroyer during cold war, choosing to use the Modernized TK-2 and US supplied light tanks like the Chaffee or Sheridan(76) while TK-3 is being Replaced with TK-5 Main Battle Tank, in the other hand the Tank seem to last against the ineffectiveness of itself, it have been through many Modernization, looking all different with modification of Gun, Armor, Engine, or Even a chassis build entirely based on TK-2 or even a New light tank build. Because it is also that TK-2 was a cut cost tank, able to handle 40% more Modification is a see-through modularity that happened to also being able to handle Modern modification, a Balanced Armor and Gun with a broken experimental round is a Pinnacle and a new rat king of Low tier.
