Development Lore

The AWA-03 "Namazu" or Catfish is a Janoshian AWACS aircraft developed in 1989 with the help of Osevan aircraft industry Southern-Martin. It was a collaborative joint project to make an efficient AWACS for Janoshi, in their replacement of their Osevan E-1 Sorcerer. It was planned as a Janoshi own AWACS system for Janoshian air force, with mostly their own technology and a couple borrowed technology from Southern-Martin.

The prototype was planned to fly in 1993, however due to delays for the Polaris Radome, the prototype was delayed and was flown in 1994 instead. After a promising prototype flight result, the Janoshian government confirm the production of the EWA-03, making sure by 1995 Atleast 50 units has been made.
Due to the strange look the front canards make the plane be, many ground crews call the aircraft "Namazu" or Catfish, little did they know it will be adopted into it's official designation by the Janoshian air force.

It saw many wars and support many pilots during it, most importantly during the Kyoshun Defense in 2011, where Kyoshun bay on Janoshian land was invaded by a PMC group. The "Janoshi Proxy War" lasted for around 4 years until the PMC was promptly kicked out of the nation, and most of the support effort? Goes to EWA-03 Nemazu.

Appearance in the Second M-War

The EWA-03 Appears quite often during the second M-War, mostly as support for fighter aircraft and squadrons alike. Many of them are distinctly recognize during the war.
Most prominent in the war however, is and are not limited to:

• AWACS Reivun (Grey color scheme with shark mouth painted on the nose)
• AWACS Kaze (The one you're seeing here)
• AWACS Ikari (Brownish bright paint scheme with a black and white eagle painted on its radome, part of the Grunt Squadron)
• AWACS Shotokyasuta (Mostly grey paint scheme with an accent of black)

These AWACS play an important role during the Second M-War, and they too are as important as the aircraft they're flying.
