An updated version of my previous EMD F40PH with minor and more accurate detailing. This train is used for corridor services, usually to less popular stations, especially in off-seasons like winter. Via Rail owns around 23 "Budd streamlined" cars specifically for corridor operations, although they have sometimes been part of the Canadian consist, as the Canadian also uses "Budd streamlined" cars, but usually only one or two economy coaches. Via Rail is the single largest operator of these railcars, some built as early as 1947 and 1952. The specific numbers for key types of Budd cars in the fleet include:Park cars (sleeper-dome-lounge): 14 units remain on the roster as of 2015.Rail Diesel Cars (RDCs): VIA currently rosters seven RDCs, some of which have been refurbished.Other coaches, sleepers, diners, and baggage cars: VIA inherited a large fleet of 155 stainless steel cars from Canadian Pacific in 1978, which included 30 coaches, 18 dining cars, and 71 sleeping cars, plus the dome cars.
