Three-Five-Zero Division unveils their first military prototype of the TFZ-9UFF 'Unconventional / Fast / Fighter' project, aka "PUFF" the Dragon.

Army Airforce Command has assigned you to flight test this and deliver your assessment of its performance and capabilities.
You have not been authorized to use the War Emergency Power (AG3), and an excuse of "But it looks really good at night, sir!" will NOT spare you from an ass-whooping, are we understood?

This is a preliminary trial of its flying behavior and weapon systems, and we will leave it to their mechanics and engineers to determine if the twin V-16's can handle sustained W.E.P. use. Understood? Outstanding!

Takeoff procedure has been directed as full throttle until approximately 275mph, with slight pulling back of the yoke to bring the nose up.
Alternatively, if you're too lazy for that, then you may start out with some Trim, and maybe we can get a flight attendant to bring you something to snack on, would you like that? TOO BAD.

After you've left terra-firma, gear up and proceeded to perform your routine.

Weapons are a trio of 50-cal in the nose, with twin 20mm Auto Cannons to either side that are configured for multi-role engagement. Under the chin you will find four Air-to-Air "Interceptor" missiles with some sort of new whiz-bang "radar lock, homing"... you know what, just press the trigger when the box stops flashing and you hear that annoying "squeeeeee"!
The rear belly turret is trialing a magical auto-aiming system that will put the crosshairs on target for you, but I'll believe that when I see it. AG2 to free those twin Browning .308 machineguns. I figure, even if they don't hit what you're aiming at, the tracers ought to be good at scaring the pants off anyone that gets behind you, considering they're still being fired at even while chasing YOU down!
Countermeasures are equipped as well.

Dismissed!

That all out of the way...
I wasn't really able to finish this as much as I'd like, as I'll be heading to the cabin for the rest of July and am uncertain how much time I'd get to work on it more. If I do, I'll be sure to redirect this page to any updates I upload.

The auto-aim is the best I could manage to get it to be. It was a nightmare working out why it was misbehaving, and part of it has to do with it being mounted UNDER the plane instead of above, which all the FT code had been written for. So I had to grind through trial-and-error how to fix that, but I finally did. Plane needs to be level to get it to really even get near the target... but it beats the manual-operated system I was going to use, which let the turret swing freely around in flight and looked horrible lol.
NOTE: Added touch - it has its own camera and accurate crosshairs! (night-illuminated, even)
NOTE2: The guns actually have their aircraft collision disabled, to prevent you from chewing up your own plane (propellers, tail, probably the rockets lol). This, sadly, is also why they don't "hit anything" when shooting at other planes :\ However, if you want to try that out, just set that XML option to "True", and godspeed!

Cockpit has my first ever attempt at adding stuff...
Included is one instrument, a Temperature gauge. It'll read that it's running optimal until you engage WEP, at which point it'll climb beyond Hot, due to the engine running at >100% power. The Red light blinks when WEP is enabled, and the green light goes out. When WEP is turned off, the Green light comes back on.

Speaking of WEP... the engine's exhaust are Thrusters BUT ARE NOT AT ALL FUNCTIONAL. They are only included for their visuals! The VTOL engine equipped (as the dashboard!) is set to zero power. The exhaust flame grows with throttle, and is 'supercharged' when WEP is enabled, further verifying it's working. :)

Other touches:
The Auto-Cannons, as their name implies, auto-reload new round for you. Each two shots trigger a reload cycle, whereby the empty brass casings will be ejected out the gun's breach at the rear of the wing, so don't be alarmed if you happen to see them tumble by you while maneuvering. (They won't hurt'cha, though if they land on anything, like a ship... that'll piss 'em off and cause them to fire at you....)

The trio of guns also eject their brass out the chin of the plane, inspired by your own AS-15's gatling guns :D (not sucking up, I only realized AFTER I added them, that it happened to be your plane that I got the idea from!)

This plane comes with lots of first for me. It's progress, but still definitely "noobish" in lots of ways. I love my engines though, so I'm happy. ^_^

Enjoy the flight!

@LunchBox Go'fer it :P I thought using just bullets from machineguns was a novel idea, and then I was like ! I could use super-slow moving cannon rounds as their own casings! lol
Ooh ho but then... Then brilliance struck, and I'm like HMMM... "These look great but... they're coming out facing the wrong way, the taper should be facing forwards, like the neck of a bullet casing! Would SP, by some small chance, let me, you know... shoot these backwards??? :>"
Sure enough, yes... it WILL let you shoot them backwards! lmao
    So yea, don't forget to configure the "ejector" cannon's velocity to a NEGATIVE value, and also rotate the gun backwards, since it will now fire from the breach :}

It'd be interesting to know just WHERE it came up with all those drag points...
I disabled drag on all the tiny aesthetics stuff that otherwise would've added a lot, so I'm not sure where the extra 1000 came from compared to last time I checked >_>
You do you, Simple Planes lol
