SPE Osprey (Warp Capable)

161k spefyjerbf  7.6 years ago

The Osprey is the first commercially available ship that has a warp drive. It is often used as a colony ship, or a light transport vessel. It has plenty of room for passengers and cargo (Passenger and Cargo units are in the third screenshot). Its warp drive is extremely stable, and even amateur pilots can use it effectively. The only downside to the Osprey's design is that it can only re-enter a planet's atmosphere at 20,000 mph. Any faster will simply have the ship collide with the ground before it can pull up. The Osprey also comes with landing skis, which help it land on rough terrain.

Tips (IMPORTANT):
You cannot taxi (Sorry, this is because I wanted to keep the design simple. you can add landing gears if you want.)
The controls will most likely lock up during warp jumps.
You can combine warp jumps for extra speed.
Have your nose pointed a little bit up during warp jumps.
Shaking during warp jumps is expected... no worries.

Landing..... skis?:
Landing skis are a fun alternative to landing gears. Use them just like landing gears. Softer landings are preferred, and have your approach speed at 400 mph for best results.
Don't worry... the skis can take a beating.

Controls:
Weak Jumps: Activators 1 and 2. Speed is 30,000mph
Medium jumps: Activators 3 and 4. Speed is 40,000 mph
Strong jumps: Activators 5 and 6. Speed varies between 40,000 and 65,000 mph.
