The B-97 Wraith was borne out of the slow realisation that stealth alone is not enough to ensure survivability - speed is also essential. Combining the stealth characteristics of composite blended-wing construction with the performance of two enormous R-209 powerplants, the Wraith penetrates enemy airspace, delivers its payload, and is halfway home before the enemy realises he's been attacked. The Wraith reaches 2000+ mph at sea level while retaining a degree of maneuverability that is hard to believe.
