Large battleship Liebknecht

146k Feanor  6.8 years ago

A large battleship designed solely to sink the H-39 to H-44 battleships and the Yamato, the Liebknecht has 15 20 inch guns mounted in five turrets. However, it does look as if someone was trying to rip off the Tillman battleships.

VTOL slider to control propeller pitch
Trim slider to control rudder
Roll to roll
Leave throttle at 10% and VTOL slider at 1/3 up when not turning

And sadly, it will definitely not fit into the new Panama canal locks, so it has to go around Cape Horn instead.

oh yes, and it has another bridge near the stern just in case anyone wants to sail backwards and use the three superfiring turrets.

Let's be real Russia would have to buy this from another nation
They have basically no experience in ship building

@aceofspades2707 I guess it could be done.

@Feanor well, you could just do that, or make a relatively simple H-44. DP guns can be copied and edited from this, fill up the gaps for these DP guns on this ship, remove details non-existant in the H-44, elongate bow, remove and change turret guns, and you're done!

@aceofspades2707 But if I am not mistaken, the treaty was only signed by the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, France and Italy as the Soviet Union was not invited to the Washington Naval Conference.

And it will probably take a lot of work to turn this into the H-44 since the bow, turrets, engines and superstructure will have to be replaced.

@Feanor oh, how stupid me... it said the treaty is signed by "the major powers that won WWI". The Soviet Union, was one of them...
Also, it can be transformed into the H-44, no effort needed.

@aceofspades2707 Well, a helipad would have been situated where the aft turret is, but since there wasn't enough space, I just went with another turret.

Since article V and VI states:

    ARTICLE V
No capital ship exceeding 35,000 tons (35,560 metric tons) standard displacement
shall be acquired by, or constructed by, for, or within the jurisdiction
of, any of the "Contracting Powers".
    ARTICLE VI
No capital ship of any of the "Contracting Powers" shall carry a gun with a
calibre in excess of 16 inches (406 millimetres) .

And since neither the real Soviet union nor this fictional Soviet union with Russian bias added signed the treaty, I think this fictional battleship could get away with starting an arms race.

@Feanor No, it can't. Articles V and VI of the Washington Treaty states "Capital ships are limited to a standard displacement of 35 000 tons...and guns of caliber no more than 16 inches." Sorry to burst your bubble there... And the 3 aft turrets should be placed at the bow.

Well yes, but if the Soviet Union somehow found a way to build it, the ship could probably get around the treaty. @aceofspades2707

Yeah, if this was built, it would smack the Washington and London naval treaties in the face, so... small chance.

@ChasingHorizon The shape or the dimensions? Because I usually use hulls that are either 25 or 50 meters wide.
