Introduction

The Panzerkampfwagen V 'Panther' (Sd. Kfz 171) was first developed to fight against T-34 after the Operation Barbarossa. Equipped with L/70 KwK 42 75mm cannon , two MG-34 and lots of 55 degrees tilt armor , it was one of the most successful medium tank in WW2.
Its first real battle was in 1943's Kursk and served till the war ended.

Background

Early in 1938 , the Germans had proposed a new tank research called VK2001. VK (Vorfuhrwagen) , meaning tracked vehicle while 2001 referred to the first 20 tons programme . The germans hoped it can took the place of Panzer III und Panzer IV.
However, the emergence of T-34 disorganized the previous plan so they had to cancel VK 2001 and started the VK3001 project , therefore , Panther was born as a legend.
